History channel announces new original programming

History (formerly known as The History Channel) unveiled its most aggressive slate of original programming to date today. The network’s 2009-2010 schedule will include: the 12-part series  America: The Story of Us, which chronicles the rise of the United States; Pawning History, about a family of LasVegas pawn shop operators; Madhouse, which follows the action at a North Carolina racetrack; and WWII in HD, which offers up color footage from the 1940s war in high-definition. History also will air The Naturalized, a Jon Stewart-produced special about immigrants becoming U.S. citizens.

What they need to do is just go back to being the History Channel. The reason their ratings have started slowly climbing back up this year is because they started airing actual history like Battles BC, Patton 360 and Engineering an Empire. For three years they decided to become the Ice Truckers/Ax Men channel. That’s nice, it gave them a temporary boost in ratings but then, predictably, they fell lower than they had initially started because they lost their core fans. It’s not the Discovery Channel. They already have a channel for that. Go back to being the History Channel and you’ll have ratings like you did six or seven years ago.

Leave it to Hollywood and these three Las Vegas prostitutes to reinforce every gratuitous negative stereotype of the most civilized form of short-term consumer credit. Fortunately, for every pawnshop operation such as this embellished for prime-time farce, there are dozens of modern family-friendly pawn shop professionals who serve their customers with dignity and run their businesses in a respectable manner. We have the behind the scenes footage, the REAL racing, not the made up stuff…the camera crews around Bowman Gray Stadium are turning the place into a joke for their “Madhouse” Series..to see the REAL videos and REAL pictures, not some soap, you can check it out at itsallamile.com. By the way, Bowman Gray has 4 divisions, not just the modifieds, but the crew decided only the modifieds were interesting enough, funny thing, the fist fight happened in the street stock, a car rolled in the stadium stock and one jumped the wall in the stadium stock, will they have those videos, probably not because they only wanted the modifieds…we love all 4 divisions, not just the modifieds…so we have videos of all 4!! To me, I’m really looking forward to this series. It sounds awesome. Don’t listen to the people shilling their own websites. Please keep this show going forward to give these short track guys the national exposure they deserve!

I’ve been a regular in the pits and stands of the stadium for a long time and I’m really looking forward to the television show MADHOUSE, featuring some of the top mod drivers(particularly jr.miller and the myers) I hope it gets highly rated and I hope it gets picked up for more than one season so may’be they will cover all the divisions in the future.

i agree its going to be a good show . hopefully it does get all the divisions , not just the mods . if the mods is all they are going to concentrate on i might as well not watch . those other divisions are where the real exciting racing is in my opinion . but anyway hopefully they will add all 4 and a chain race or 2 every once in a while ! BTW they got the secound season .
