Donald Trump announced today that Carrie Prejean will keep her crown as Miss California despite the controversy surrounding her views on same-sex marriage and the semi-nude photos of her that surfaced on the Internet. "We are in the 21st century," Trump, who owns the pageant, said of the photos at a New York press conference today, with Prejean sitting next to him. "We have determined that the pictures taken were fine." As for the anti-same-sex-marriage answer she gave during the nationally-televised Miss USA pageant last month, Trump said, "She gave a very honest answer when asked a tough question."

Donald Trump rewards bad behavior. I thought the issue was that she wasnt showing up for scheduled events (but lending her name and face to conservative issues) and lied on her application. From a business sense didnt she void her contract?
Good. I’m glad she gets to keep her crown. I don’t agree with her views on same-sex marriage, but she has the right to them. And the right to talk about them. Would these photos really be a big deal if she wasn’t in this controversy right now? Miss Rhode Island has the exact same kind of pictures taken and the Rhode Island organization isn’t doing anything about stripping her of her title. It would have looked bad on the national organization as a whole to strip one of her title and not the other.
I’m glad she gets to keep her crown too – now she can’t get even more press for being a “victim”.
Of course new pictures had to surface, the problem is these people need to realize if you want to be in the public eye as a role model you need to not take these photos ever. They WILL surface, I found these pictures of Miss California here! Check em out…

okay. seriously. who cares. and saying that it’s the 21st century does NOT make posing topless okay for miss usa or miss california or any other representative of a state.
Wow, what great news! This vapid woman gets to keep her pretend crown and do what other previous winners have done, absolutely nothing of value.
As Trump insightfully pointed out, Prejean has the exact same stance on same-sex marriage that President Obama does.
Her personal opinion is always welcome, the fact that she abandoned her original platform (Special Olympics)to capitalize on her sudden fame is sad. I guess her boobs aren’t the only thing that are fake!
Sounds like Mr. Trump was thinking with his pants instead of his brain! Those photos were definitely not subtle… since when is posing nude “fine in the 21st Century”? I’m not at all conservative but seriously…nice message to young girls, Don.
Here we have a story of TWO hypocrits. 1) Miss California has ever right to believe what she wants about gay marriage. BUT when you get on a soapbox and act holier than thou and then we find out that you have done tons of nude photo shoots — well then you are a hypocrit. What God-loving Christian does that? And yes, more and more photos are now showing up — check today’s gossip websites for yourself — she reveals a full boob in one. So please don’t tell me that these are tasteful model shots.
2) Donald Trump — where do we start? He fires the Kardashian girl on Celeb Apprentice — not for the task at hand — but because she had a DUI in her past. And we all know that the teetotaler cant handle anyone drinking. But somehow he can accept Miss California doing pornography in the past? And this isn’t some dumb tv game show — this is supposed to be a serious scholarship-driven pageant for respectable young women. Yeah, right.

People who claim the Bible opposes homosexuality but who ignore the fact that it also says that slavery is okay, adulterers should be stoned, and any number of other weird things are already hypocrites. They ignore the context of the Bible’s words on homosexuality and use those words to justify their own prejudices.
Anyone with such a narrow view of the Bible must also believe that posing for racy pictures designed to arouse the lust of the menfolk is also wrong. Ergo, Ms. Prejean is a hypocrite, as are those who beleive as she does.
I am straight, and a Christian. But so much evil has been done throughout history by people who interpret the Bible in the light of their own prejudices.
Do those of you who oppose marriage equality ever truly contemplate what that does to gay people? I have gay friends. It hurts them to know the the laws of their country and the will of their fellow citizens treat them as second-class citizens. It breaks my heart. It should break yours.
None of the pictures revealed are “pornography”. Yes, they are inconsistent with “christian” perspective.
But really, that’s not what this is about. She gave her honest answer to a rigged question…by a biased, self-interested judge and riled the PC set.
Now – in an effort to quash free speech and a Christian/ religious platform for the state title – they want to toss her out – KNOWING they’d never do the same thing to anyone else.
The Don made the right call about this.
Hypocrites? WHO!?
I hope this settles this case and we can go back to never reading Miss California’s name in the news ever again. Who cares what a fake blonde, fake tanned, fake breasted bimbo beauty queen has to say about anything!
To clean up the grammar a bit there, I should say:
“It hurts them to know that the laws of their country and the will of their fellow citizens treat relegate them to second-class citizenship. It breaks my heart. It should break yours.
We are the land of the free. You have the freedom to disapprove of gay marriage. You do not have the right to impose your private beliefs on others. You don’t have to marry gay people in your churches if you don’t want to (happily, many churches do). But you do not have the right to prevent them from being married.
Those who oppose marriage equality are on the wrong side of history. There was opposition to civil rights for black people too, but “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.” Martin Luther King, Jr., said that.
The arc will bend towards justice for gay people, too. It is already bending, with the help of gay people and straight people joining together to fight for human dignity and equality.
