Garry Marshall will direct New Line’s ensemble romantic comedy Valentine’s Day, with no less than Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Bradley Cooper, and Ashton Kutcher in talks to star, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The interconnecting storylines include Roberts as an Army officer on leave from Iraq, Cooper as a gay man whose boyfriend is a closeted football player, Kutcher as a flower shop owner who proposes to girlfriend Alba but is in love with best friend Garner, MacLaine as Roberts’ mom, Hathaway as a talent agency assistant dating a mailroom worker, and Biel as a publicist who’s unlucky in love.

This sounds awful! Roberts as an Army officer?!?!?!
bradley cooper as a gay character?? it should be ashton kutchner!!!!!!! he’s so fitting of a gay character..anyways the previews are enough to put me off!!!!ewwwwwww
WHY is Garry Marshall still allowed to direct???
Bradley Cooper played gay in Wet Hot, though this sounds different. More like his other move he’s just not that into you type interconnected stuff. Kutcher and Garner? Sounds like a weird duo
im kind of intrigued, throw sarah michelle in the mix and im there!
I highly doubt this cast will work out. Roberts, Hathaway, Garner all in the same movie? That’s too much of a dream team to actually happen.
when was the last time a multi-big named ensemble comedy worked? Apparently you have to have a J name to be a woman in this movie (exc. Anne)
So, basically, it would be the American version of “Love Actually”.
Seriously?! Snooze-fest!!!! Shirley Maclaine and Jessica Biel in the same movie?! There’s too many wrongs and not enough rights.
haven’t I seen this movie? isn’t called “Love, He’s Just Not That Into You Actually”?
That many good names suggests to me that there might actually be a good script to attract them. If Hollywood actually makes a GOOD romantic comedy again, I’m so there.
biel + garner + alba = trash heap. these 3 “actresses” are rarely in anything good, roberts as an army officer?! gary marshall’s films are usually safe and formulaic.
good one! w/ all these actors and the potential multiple storylines, this film does seem like an amalgamation of those 2 films.
Jen Garner, Anne Hathaway, and certainly Bradley Cooper deserve better than this; the rest can go screw (esp. the old fossil director!)…
Bradley is perfect as the gay character, he won’t have to act.
