Stephenie Meyer might have already released her Twilight finale, but thatdoesn’t mean fans of the franchise will have to let go of the series just yet.Little, Brown will be publishing several books this fall that are tied in withthe franchise. Along with movie tie-in literature for this year’s NewMoon adaptation, the publisher will also release a limited special editionof Breaking Dawn, as well as journals that feature cover art for all fourbooks.
According to a press release from the publisher, the BreakingDawn Special Edition, on stands Aug. 4, will include a DVD of theBreaking Dawn concert series and interviews with Meyer. Those who pick upthe hardcover book can also expect a poster and reproduction of handwrittenlyrics for “My Never,” by Blue October’s Justin Furstenfeld. The TwilightJournals(pictured), out Oct. 13, are packaged in a tin and include “decorative quotes”from each book. For those hoping to buy books tied into New Moon, Little,Brown will release New Moon: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion onOct. 6 and New Moon trade and mass-market paperback tie-ins in Septemberand November, respectively. They will also publish a New Moon Collector’sEdition on Oct. 6.

If she wants to make more money she should wrtie NEW things. I really liked the Twiligh Series but I am tired of the rereleases of books and cds. Add on to The Host and quit with the collector’s editions.

I can’t wait to see the special editions of the books, no matter how many they make! I’m a huge collector of anything they make that is Twilight Saga related. I’m so excited with the New Moon movie companion. I loved the on they made for the Twilight Movie. I think the journals are going to be great, and they will make great gifts too. Hopefully we won’t have to wait to long after they have finished filming New Moon to start getting the merchandise like Tee’s and soundtrack and etc. I can’t wait. But I do agree with the rest of the fans and that WE WANT MIDNIGHT SUN!!!! Enought with the sadness of someone leaked it, I’m sorry to hear that but Mrs Meyers, you have teased us enough with the draft, finish it and give your Edward Lovers what they want. It isn’t right that Jacob got his view told in B.D and Edward didn’t. Finished Edwards version and we will all be happy, and so will you. Team Edward all the way!!!!

Ms.Meyer hasn’t found another author to rip off yet like she did for Twilight(i.e. Charlain Harris’ Southern Vampire Chronicles)So therefore, no new books.
Although maybe she will get around to finishing the regurgitated version of Twilight, she is calling Midnight Sun.

doesn’t sound like this version will be any better than the thing I wasted an evening on last year. seriously, breaking dawn was AWFUL. pages and pages and pages and PAGES of just honestly, nothing happening. i wanted my money back then and i still kind of want it back now. i mean, at least have some kind of drama in the plot where someone might have been in danger….Something to make up for the crap ending.
I have to agree. Release Midnight Sun, and quit it with the Special Editions. I am 25-going on-26, and I have all 4 books already. I would love a journal, but those seem pretty flimsy, so I will stick to hardbound lined-paper journals for now. It has grown painfully apparent that I am no longer 16 and willing to buy everything that has to do with the series.
Not interested. “Midnight Sun” is the way to go. My loyalty is already waning. I don’t think she cares about the wishes of her fans. I don’t even plan on looking at all of these “extras” published to make money only, but nothing new here. Finish Midnight Sun already before your fans grow tired of you and your lack of interest in them. Another head turned by the easy dollar. This latest required no effort on her part.
i think its great, and all the negavite feed back is just but because if you would have not cared you would of not read the book in one night spent time to write a comment! over look all this and go on! and stop being Haters and messing in up for everyone else that does like the twilight series and the author Stephanie Meyers!
Can not wait!!! Please Stephenie, finish Midnight Sun (soon!!!) Can’t get enough of Twilight fast enough! Not just characters in the books – but the real people that have made the books come to life.
The only special edition I would buy is the one with an alternate ending.
I think that you’ve done a great job and i wouldnt mind getting the special editions! I hope that you do decide to finish Midnight Sun it would be the greatest,for all your fans! I love all four books and i cant wait to read the fifth one!
I won’t be spending another dime on any book that will put money in Stephanie Meyer’s or her publisher’s pocket until Midnight Sun comes out. I suggest you all do the same. We vote with our money in this country. Maybe her publisher will find a way to motivate her if we stop giving them money for things we don’t want as much as we want Midnight Sun. It’s time for her to stop punishing her devoted fans for something we didn’t do.
I don’t think we should try to push Stephenie into putting out the book. She has already stated that the reason she is not continuing with the project currently is because the way she writes, she needs to feel like it is a private story and that if she started writing it again right now that there are too many ideas being put on the internet of what SHOULD happen and she doesn’t want to be influenced by that. I also think that if we tried to force her to write it, we wouldn’t be getting the best story possible out of her and no fans want that.
I do not think Stephenie Meyer ripped off any of the Charlaine Harris “Sookie Stackhouse” series. Everything about the two series is different. As someone who has read all of the books (except for the last in the Stackhouse series) I can definitely say the only thing in common about them is the fact that they are about vampires. Both series are fabulous.
But, I too, want Meyers to finish Midnight Sun!!!
I agree that I will not spend another dime on any of the books until Midnight Sun is released. I understand her position that she feels violated after what happened, but I feel that she has an obligation to fulfill and I WANT MORE EDWARD!!!!!

Sounds great. I wont buy it because I agree with most of you, I want MIDNIGHT SUN! She should finish that first, and then she can put out all the special editions that she wants. ..and trust me, I’ll buy them all…I’m IN-LOVE with the series…and I can’t stand her punishing us the fans for the mistake of ONE person. I hope she finishes up the book soon =D.

Chelsea, if you really think about it, the reasons Ms. Meyer gives for not writing Midnight Sun make it so that she will never write it. She was violated and deserved some time to pout, but the only way that book will ever get written is if she gets new motivation to write it rather than focusing on why she won’t. I’m sure she has more money than she’ll ever need and that money isn’t a motivation, but if we show her how she’s letting us down by voting with our puchases, maybe her desire to continue having her work read and possibly her love of her fans will motivate her to work past her writers block. It’s all in her head; changing one’s mind is a simple thing with the proper motivation.
God they really are milking this for all it’s got, aren’t they? I don’t blame Meyer, for this, obviously; it’s the publisher’s decision. But still. I guess there’s nothing wrong with merchandising, if the demand’s there.
I couldn’t help but snicker about a special edition of Breaking Dawn, though. Our local bookstore couldn’t get rid of the original ones! Let’s be honest — BD was terrible the first time, and I don’t see how glossy bells and whistles are going to change that.
I agree with a lot of people on here. I will not spend another red cent on Meyer’s work until she grows up, shows some maturity and finishes Midnight Sun. Obviously it’s painful to have your work outed, but the way she handled it was childish and immature to the extreme. She could learn some lessons in class from J.K. Rowling, whose work was leaked all the time (including the last book). Rowling merely asked her fans not to reveal the ending or read it at all. She didn’t do something stupid like say, “One person leaked it. Now no one can read Deathly Hallows!”
The shiny new covers and merch may sway the mindless fangirls, but I’m holding out for something original or not at all.
