The American Idol judge, who made headlines earlier this week with a revealing Ladies’ Home Journal feature that claimed she checked into La Costa Resort and Spa to kick her painkiller addiction, has refuted the story. On Detroit’s WKQI radio station, Abdul insisted she checked into the spa for a vacation, not a rehab stint. "I just wanted to chill out and get massages," Abdul said on the air this morning.

It’s TRUE, I saw her at the spa, and it’s a SPA. I saw her getting a masasge. There were no crazy Dr. Drew types or Danny Bonoduci’s running around!

This proves that Paula is a nutcase…she refutes everything. First she goes on live TV and says stuff, then turns around and refutes it…refute refute refute…like who cares Paula? You’re not THAT important…do you think it will effect your contract negotiations? Not!
Paula, you are a talented, beautiful woman. Please get help for your adictions, whatever they are, so that you can continue your career in good health. You don’t owe your public anything – you owe yourself everything. Please get well.
It’s sick the state of our tabloid culture. Real journalism doesn’t even exists any more. She didn’t go to rehab to beat an addiction. She weaned herself off of prescription drugs she was prescribe by her DR for her Spinal Cord Injuries, because they weren’t working for her. When ever you stop using any meds you have withdrawal symptoms. A big difference from addiction. Luckily she has found Chiropractic and Acupuncture and is actually now finding some relief for her ailment.
Until you have walked in her shoes and felt her pain..SHUT-UP!!!!! I’ve been there, I AM there, PAIN, constant and relentless — it sucks!! I pray NO ONE has to feel what she feels everyday. Or the pain I feel everyday. You must all be YOUNG and HEALTHY, time spares no man or woman, no matter what, your time will come. Sooner or later, so have some compassion. It is what YOU will want when YOUR time comes.
Paula Abdul is not the only person in the world who has taken pain killers at work, whether she did or not, who’s business is it. If you ask me, after a season of god awful misguided judges comments from kara, simon and randy, mrs. abdul is the only one walking away from this year with any credibility at all. Maybe she should slide a few of those painkillers in other judges big glasses sitting in front of them, maybe if they have a little buzz going they would be more accurate

True or not, clearly the woman is addicted to chemicals. And she must still be using them if she thought anyone bought that “performance” Weds night. The first step to sobriety is admitting you have a problem. Clearly Paula is off the wagon again (if she was ever on it).
