Kiefer Sutherland will turn himself over to prosecutors to face a minor assault charge according to the New York Daily News. Sutherland allegedly attacked designer Jack McCollough at a party in Manhattan on Monday.

This is why I hate the media sometimes… He “ATTACKED” the designer? All we’ve heard is that he headbutted the guy–it could have been in self defense, it could have been provoked, who knows. But all this says is he’s turning himself in because he ATTACKED somebody.
C’mon Kief! You’ve got Season 8 to film. Quit screwin’ around!

Mike: And this is why media is constantly annoyed with its readership: total lack of understanding of the news reporting gathering/writing process.
Crime stories like this come from police reports and statements and/or court records. If you have a problem with what word the publication used, 99% of the time you have an issue with the police or the court system, not the messenger.
Everyone should leave Kiefer alone, maybe he was just trying to defend Brooke for this person, nobody really knows what happened but the people involved.Kiefer has already said he has a drinking problem, the media just wants to make a mole hill into a mountain, they have to say something bad about Kiefer, because he is in the entertainment business. At least he step up to assist her, most other men would have walk away, and left her by her self. Hey he was in Jack Bauer mode, I had rather have him by my side than these other people who call them selves men, all I can say is go Kiefer go .

The press just need to leave Kiefer alone! He was trying to be a nice guy and defend Brooke, this whole incident is being blown way out of proportion. It is things like this, which cause Kiefer to hate the media. I mean give the guy a break! I support you, Kiefer!
