Although there have been rumors that Kara DioGuardi, American Idol‘s fourth judge, might not be returning to the show next season, Simon Cowell has told Ellen DeGeneres that "everyone’s going to be back." On Tuesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Cowell said that the addition of DioGuardi was initially "awkward," but that her presence ultimately improved the program. Fox had no comment for EW on whether all of the judges would be returning next year.

Good. Kara’s slowly but surely becoming my favorite judge on the panel.
I’m one of the few Kara fans. I did not want to see her go. Good to hear she’s staying.
If anyone should leave, it’s Randy or Paula. Both useless.

He didn’t really say that she would be a judge, just that everybody is returning as far as he knows. Really no definite information.

She’s had her bad moments, but overall, she’s made the show better.
i like kara a lot. sure she may rehash some of randy’s comments but at least she makes them sound more intelligent. i wanna see more bickering between her and simon next season.

If anything, at least Kara has gotten Paula to step up her game and become lucid and coherent this season. She’s still “Paula” (we wouldn’t have her any other way!), but last year, she was downright loopy!
I agree. Paula has been checked. And sounds sane this season.
People complain (here? What a shock!) when ever something is put into an old formula. Fortunately, AI is judging on the merits. Kara has industry experience, insight, and generally, I agree with her. I ALWAYS respect her. While Paula rarely wants to give bad news, Kara is constructive always. Glad she’s staying.

at this point, paula is the only one who doesn’t make me blind with rage. I never thought I would give up on simon, but I am done with him this season — when did he become such a producer’s pick pusher? weak. sauce.
Kara has to go! Her voice is so condescending and she always has this look on her face. I am actually thinking about not watching anymore because of her!!!!
