GREAT news. Among the best new shows this season, along with Southland, and Kings.

Yay! For those who gave up early in the season, give it another chance. Its found its footing and has become quite great.

    YEEESSSSSS!!!!!

Excellent! This show started slow but has gotten a lot better during the season — can’t wait to see where they’ll go after this.

Awesome news! Fringe is my favorite new show…and probably the only one that I watch that will get renewed. Thanks for the info! :)

  • LizaM

Yeah!!! I am so glad they renewed Fringe! I love Walter!

So great to have it officially announced (I knew it was looking pretty good – but wanted it made official). Thank you FOX! (Now please also renew the other shows of yours that I watch and want more of – Dollhouse and TTSCC)

I knew they were coming back. It’s just good to heard that it’s official! This news made my long day.
Bostonbean, I agree. Some people didn’t give it a chance and I think they should, this time around. Every episode, the show gets better and better. The characters are more developed, as well.

This show and DOLLHOUSE are my new favorite shows. Both of them started very slow, almost lost me, but I stuck with it w/ MAJOR payoff. Both shows kicked it up a huge notch after the first few eps and drove it home.
I’m bummed that Fox may be cancelling TSCC but at least they did right by Fringe.

Cool. Love Walter, Love Astrid, Love The Observer & Love the cow. Can’t wait for season 2.

This show definitely started a little slow, but started picking up steam around episode 4 or 5, and has added mythology and backstory between Olivia and Walter. To me, the show really solidified itself when Walter realized that HE was the person who typed up the manifesto of the “terrorist” organization they are trying to find (ZFT). What first was a moderately ok x-files knockoff has turned in to really good tv.

This is a fantastic show, especially after the first few episodes. I’m glad to see it renewed. Now Fox needs to renew Dollhouse!

Fabulous news! The best new show in years!

Good news. The show is just terrific. A mix of House and the X-files. My opinion of Anna Torv-Below

Hooray! Now maybe EW can show FRINGE some more love. This is a show begging for a TV WATCH, or some Doc Jensen love.

Thank goodness. I wasn’t going to be fit to live with had it gone the other way…

So glad I’ll get another year of my Walter fix! Now, if only FOX would continue this lovely trend and pair Fringe and Dollhouse together…

What’s with all the freaking spam in these comments?
Anyway, I never really got into Fringe. I watched a few episodes, and it never really captured my attention.

At least one show I actually watch has been renewed. This show keeps getting better and better.

I’m glad it’s been renewed. John Noble is a delight as the comic and tortured Dr. Walter Bishop. Remember him in LOTR: The Return of the King? It’s good to see him stretch his comic chops. It’s also good to see Blair Brown again. The use of sensory deprivation tank brought back memories of her work on “Altered States.” I’m glad to see that J.J. Abrams allows the viewers to see the monsters unlike his production of “Cloverfield” in which you don’t get a good look at the creatures. In this day and age of CGI, it’s unforgiveable. Kudos to all of the writers for thoughtful and exciting scripts. One recommendation, don’t make the mistake that X Files did. Trash your own storyline in an unbeliveable finsh. (Scully can’t get pregnant, no she can. Kill off the Lone Gunmen. No real alien conspiracy, it’s all about the creation of super soldiers, etc.)

Finally, some good news today! After reading that Life has been cancelled and Chuck is hanging in the air, it’s a relief to find out that Fringe is coming back for a second season. The show has gotten better and better every week, and I hope the fans help spread the word and the network finds new ways to promote it. Maybe they can run the series again this Summer so that new viewers can watch it. I am happy with this decision. The great cast will be back! Yes!

  • Mike

Another year of Walterisms !! YES !!
