NBC greenlights gambling gameshow

Tagged:

NBC is gambling that viewers are hungry for more poker. Variety reports that the network has ordered seven episodes of Face the Ace, a Las Vegas gameshow in which ordinary contestants compete in poker tournaments against professional card-sharks. If the contestant wins, they can opt to keep the winnings, or risk those winnings against another pro for a bigger pot— of up to $1 million. But if they lose, the contestant walks away emptyhanded.

Hosted by Steve Schirripa (The Sopranos), Ace will debut  Aug. 1 at 9 p.m., but will eventually move to Saturday afternoons beginning in September.

Wow. Another reason not to watch NBC if they cancel my show “Chuck”

Way to jump on a bandwagon two years after it stopped rolling, NBC.

NBC Must be getting low on ideas for shows…more stupid reality tv that is what we need.

Interesting show concept, they should think about a theme using Ladies only in the concept.

One other thought, NBC has not figured out that if they want to really have more viewers watching Poker on TV,
they should talk to us about doing a LADIES POKER TV SHOW…..More Men & Women would watch Ladies Playing Poker than all the other shows combined. Our Ladies Poker Tournaments are much more entertaining than watching a bunch of men battle it out… Until you watch the Ladies Play Poker, You haven’t Lived! More Entertaining and Emotionally Charged Poker at it’s Best!

Just come to one of our tournaments and watch the ladies play:
May 10th 2PM PEPPERMILL CASINO -Reno
    May 16th 4PM TULALIP Resort & Casino
    in Seattle.
Watching Ladies at the Poker Table I have to admit is better than watching men at the table….TV is missing the REAL SHOW VIEWERS WOULD WATCH—Maybe they will figure it out.

Seriously, The might cancel Chuck, but they are going to foot the bill for a show that will be on Saturday afternoon when NO ONE WATCHES TV. After Chuck, the only show left on NBC is 30 Rock. They are quickly going down the same road ABC is heading down with me!

Are NBC executives trying to kill their network? They’ll give the greenlight for another “reality” show but CHUCK might be cancelled? If CHUCK doesn’t come back for another season then I’m finished with NBC.

  • Nick Challis

NBC is out of touch and out of date.
NBC can be fixed. Cancel all of the executives. Seriously, get rid of all the executives.
