Rapper Snoop Dogg took the witness stand in a Santa Monica courtroom Monday, saying he did not hit an audience member with a microphone during a Seattle-area concert in 2005, the Associated Press reports. Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, is named in a civil suit filed by Richard Monroe, Jr. in 2006. Monroe claims he was seriously injured by Snoop Dogg and his security guards at concert near Seattle in 2005, after Monroe came on stage. Monday, Dogg told jurors that he did not hit Monroe with a microphone, as Monroe has charged, and that Monroe only has himself to blame for coming on-stage uninvited. Monroe testified Friday that he thought he had been invited. The man is seeking millions in damages.
