Season five of MTV’s The Hills will continue this fall with new episodes even though narrator Lauren Conrad will no longer be part of the cast. According to a press release from the network, the rest of the gang — including Heidi, Audrina, Spencer, Brody, Stephanie, Lo, and Justin Bobby — will still appear, and the drama in L.A. "only gets more complicated as friendships, relationships and loyalties are tested like never before."

I have to say, good for Lauren. She is the most normal and stable person on the show and it is good to see her move on. I am curious, though, aren’t her and Lo still renting the house together? That will be difficult for MTV.
Who is going to watch a show about Heidi and Spencer?! Lame.
Bring back Kristin and her friends and then we’ll talk.
How exactly will this show continue with out it’s star and narrator? I mean how will it be structured without her as an anchor? It’s like taking Merideth Gray out of Grey’s Anatomy…no matter how you feel about the character, it doesn’t work without her…just like The Hills (as scripted as GA) won’t work without Lauren as it’s center.
I gave up on this show – finallly – last night. Five minutes in and I wondered why I was watching this fake show about the ‘real’ lives of people when we know it’s all set up and lies. I mean, when the show is telling the audience that Heidi and Spencer on the outs while they give interviews about how they are together – and then get married; when Lauren ‘works’ as an assistant when we know she isn’t; when no one mentions that Audrina is an aspiring actress – what’s the point of a reality show that is now almost 100% fake? And you lose the most sympathetic character on the show? Shut it down, people.
Gotta take issue with Kate – Lo and Lauren renting? Lauren bought that mega-mansion, another trick of the “just a normal girl” conceit of the show. And the show rented out the apartments before that…
I heard that Kristen C is coming in to “replace” Lauren. I have NEVER watched the show and I still don’t plan on it. I hope the rest of yall enjoy!
A “HILLS” WITHOUT LAUREN HUH? I AM SOOOOO NOT TUNING IT!!!! HEIDI AND SPENCER MAKE ME CRINGE!!!! THEY NEED TO GO AWAY!!!!!
if kristen comes on the show to replace L.C. then the Hills will go down the drain like Laguna Beach did when LC stopped being the main character. While it is ridiculous to tune in every week to watch these spoiled rich girls balance their “normal” lives at least LC doesn’t make reality seem as fake as Heidi’s blond hair…and body parts. She’s relateable and likable enough in the way she interacts with her friends that at least i don’t want to punch her in the face like i do when spencer opens his flesh colored bearded mouth.
PLEASE MTV,PLEASE JUST LET THIS SHOW DIE! Noone needs a ‘Hills’ without Lauren. She is the most real of the bunch and I can’t stand the show this season. You can tell Lauren can’t wait to get the hell out of there and the fake storylines. Audrina likes Brody now? Yeah,right. Hasn’t he always been after Lauren to cut her out off her life? Stephanie is friends with Lauren? Yeah,right. Heidi and Spencer have relationship problems? They just got married. This show officially sucks butt and needs to go away. Thanks for the good first 3 seasons,but now it’s time to GO AWAY.
Heidi and Spencer are probably hugely normal outside of the set of “The Hills”. In reality (read…scripted) tv people are tapped to play all sorts of characters and they got dubbed the “love to hate them” villains and rode that train all the way to the bank and back again, season after season. Who among us wouldn’t play the role of “bad couple” with our real life love to the tune of millions of dollars each year. I certainly would. MTV, we see through the fake scenes, scripted drama and manufactured moments of the show. Just let it die and let these kids live their days out in obscurity….or you could just play a music video (now there’s something novel for a music channel).
I wonder who would be the narrator if The Hills is coming back for another season without Lauren.
