Rihanna: $1 million in borrowed jewelry remains in LAPD evidence

An attorney for pop star Rihanna filed a court request this week seeking the return of around $1 million worth of borrowed jewelry and accessories that have been in LAPD evidence since the evening on which she was allegedly attacked by Chris Brown, reports People.com. In late March, the singer began efforts to return the items in question — a pair of earrings and three rings — to four separate jewelers, and to get back a borrowed Gucci gown she was wearing at the time of the alleged incident, but court documents show her queries have not yet been responded to by the prosecutor on the case.

You can tell the economy is struggling when a singing is only wearing $1 Mil worth of jewelry during a Grammys party.

In all fairness, everything she had on her was borrowed the jewels, the dress, and she had a contractual obligation to return the jewelry to their respective designers the day after wearing them. Since that couldn’t be fulfilled, the designers were initially patient considering the situation, but now the delay has cost them a significant amount of loot, and in this economy a jewelry already has all the headaches one can afford. So now they’ve begun to ask when they can get their property back. The investigators told Rihanna’s lawyer the pictures of the clothing and jewels would be sufficient evidence.

She shouldn’t get anything back. Call it an idiot tax for associating with what’s-his-name after she was abused.

Wow, steve. That’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.

  • Nathan

I agree with Steve, if she’s that stupid, she deserves to pay some kind of fee.

It’s evidence in a case until the case is closed. Why should she get special treatment?

I wasn’t talking about Rihanna being stupid. I was talking about Steve insisting that the way to fine her is to take away someone else’s stuff.

Hey you three dumbasses, Adam, Nathan and Steve: NONE OF THAT STUFF BELONGS TO HER. Her jewelry was borrowed, and she has a contractual obligation to give them back to the designers. Plus, the investigator said the photos of the stuff was sufficient evidence, so there’s no “special treatment” involved here. It would be no different if she were an ordinary citizen asking for her stuff back. And second, what does her relationship have to do with this? In case you idiots didn’t know, it is common for victims of domestic abuse to go back to their abusers, so it’s NOT the victim’s fault in any way. But since you’re men, and blaming the victim for being the victim is far easier and more typical of you than admitting that Chris Brown (A.K.A. one of your own, a MAN) is the idiot here. If there’s anyone that should be paying an “idiot tax” it should be you guys for your incredibly ignorant comments. Why don’t you move to the Middle East, where your sexist ideas would go over very well?
