The Today Show has just announced that Matt Lauer, Meredith Vieira, Al Roker, Ann Curry, Natalie Morales, Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford are all packing their bags (somebody packs Kathie Lee’s bags for her though, don’t they?) and heading out to some of the country’s "most amazing vacation destinations" — including San Antonio, Key West, and one yet-to-be-announced surprise location.
Monday, May 4, will kick off with a live broadcast from the Alamo, a trip to the country’s oldest working dude ranch, and an interview with former first lady Laura Bush in her newly adopted hometown of Dallas. The following day, the show will carry on to the Florida Keys, with, among other events, a performance from Jimmy Buffet.
"Today Takes a Vacation" marks the second time the entire four hours of the show will be broadcast from a remote location; the first was last year’s "Today Takes a Winter Break" in Vermont and Miami Beach.

Imagine that…the very reason I stopped watching this silly show…it became all about making us envious of all the palces the anchors got to travel to for free….no thanks.
sorry to put a damper on your grump Sally Sue, but it also promotes tourism within the US which is actually a good thing for the economy.
I think its a great idea to take the show on the road. You can actually follow their stories on the new Today Show app that just launched. It’s pretty cool, especially if you can’t watch the show live.
