I’m kinda glad they’re re-doing this one but I also pray they do it justice. So many of the younger generation have never even heard of the original. The theme of a gentle “everyman” character being forced into a situation where he must rely on his animal instincts to protect his own and survive was brilliantly portrayed by Hoffman and left indelible images in my head forevermore. Check it out sometime.
You are right RTA; I’ve never heard of it and it does sounds very intriguing so I’m definitely going to check out the original first, hollywood does tends to criminaly destroy movies during remakes.
