LOST is the only show worth keeping from that list. What a list of crap.

  • mgb

Lost is the only show worth anything that they’ve renewed so far. The rest is total garbage. It seems as if all of the networks are concentrating on junk TV in order to put themselves out of business. I tried to watch Ugly Betty once. It was so bad I turned it off after five minutes.

  • Antoinette

Would someone please explain to me how ABC can pick up crap like Supernanny, Private Practice and Wife Swap but they cancel shows like Eli Stone, Boston Legal and Pushing Daisies???
And I don’t see Castle on this list…..

  • Ash Durdin

the only shows that i watch from this list are AFV and Lost, I don’t like any of the others, I hope Better Of Ted or The Uunusuals gets renewed even though they have low ratings

  • Michelle

Why is Private Practice on there? That show BLOWS. The only ones on there I watch are Grey’s and Lost. They better not cancel Castle!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Meg

Why TF would they keep the dreck that is “Private Practice”? How are we going to kill that show???
I’m still STEAMING MAD that they unjustly canceled MY “Pushing Daisies,” “Eli Stone,” and “Life on Mars.” Really, the only show worth watching is “Lost.”
What about “Castle”? I found the pilot for this quite boring, but the show really improved over the past few weeks, and I have really grown to like it (mostly due to the roguishly charming Nathan Fillion and his daughter, played by newcomer Molly O’Quinn). It’s got spark and fun, something that TV is lacking. Once “Lost” is gone (and “Castle” will probably be gone, too, my luck), I’m DONE WITH ABC.

I thought Private practice would be cancelled. Maybe Izzy and Tr can move there now – http://www.bbwdatingsingles.com

Well, “Lost” has to be renewed because it’s their final year. *hyperventilating* If the network could just bring back “DirtySexyMoney”, than all will be right in the world.

  • lindsey

None of these renewals are any surprise. I also stil expect Samantha Who to be renewed as well. Out of the new shows such as Surviving Suburbia, Cupid, Castle and the Unusuals, I think the jury is still out on all of them. Unless any of these new shows start trending upward instead of spiraling downward week after week, I don’t think any of them has a chance of coming back next year. ABC saw what happened with Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies. Both shows had critical praise but low ratings that only got lower in the following season. I doubt they will make that same mistake again.

  • Clayton

I just want Pushing Daisies….and Lost, of course.

  • Otis

Only LOST is on my MUST SEE list while I catch DWTS when not in a conflict. The rest of this list are pure crap! Where are MY favorites… oh, cancelled of couse.

  • Nerwen Aldarion

Come on ABC, don’t ruin Monday nights for me. I’m quickly becoming addicted to Nathan Fillion and his hilarious one-liners. RENEW CASTLE!!!!!!

  • bas

I am glad to see Brothers and Sisters will be back. It is a great show. Though I too would rather watch Pushing Daisies than Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.

  • Orac

    @Antoinette…
You’ve got me on Private Practice. But Supernanny and Wife Swap cost ABC absolutely nothing to produce. Like most crappy reality shows.

  • Jeannie

Castle and The Unusuals need to be picked up. Those two shows are the best things on ABC after Lost. Grey’s used to be my favorite show but after the Lizzie/ Dead Denny story line I stopped watching.

  • Adam

The reason Wife Swap and Supernanny were picked up is because they are cheap to make, and they do good on Friday nights.
I’m kinda surprised Private Practice is coming back. Good to see though.

Please, renew CASTLE AND THE UNUSUALS! Other than Ugly Betty, the rest have pretty much dropped in their appeal. ABC used to be my fav channel but poor writing is starting to be a problem.

  • phredd!

I am actually happy to see Private Practice returning. And it’s too bad people keep dumping on it. It’s a good show that actually got better this season after an admittedly kinda rocky start. DirtySexyMoney started out good, I truly enjoyed the pilot and first few episodes. But then became a bit boring. Eli Stone had a fantastic first season, but something seemed missing from it for me when it returned. And Pushing Daisies? UGH! Started out cutesy and annoying and pretty much stayed that way. I gave it a few chances and just couldn’t get through an entire episode. Private Practice in my opinion has become quite solid and intriguing and I even got my best friend addicted to it. It has had some great moments and storylines and is on a good track now. I’m glad I stuck with it and glad to see it on the renewal list.

  • Rachel

Renewing Castle would be smart, too ;)

I’m not surprised at any of these pickups. While some people on this tread may not watch or care for these shows that’s not an impediment to the millions that do watch these shows each week. Look at a weekly nielsen ratings chart and you’ll see all of these shows either win their timeslots handily either in demographics or total viewers, or place second in one or more categories as shocking as that might sound, especially when you see Wife Swap and Supernanny doing quite well on Fridays. And if that isn’t enough shock and awe, Surviving Suburbia, and Castle are steadily moving from the maybe line to the likely to be renewed point. My favorite new show, The Unusuals, had an amazing episode Wednesday night. Unfortuantely, nobody watched it. So, I don’t care how spectacular the writing was on that show. I don’t have any unrealistic expectations of ABC keeping shows that no one watches.

  • lee

ABC should have kept Life on Mars; should keep The Unusuals and dump whole rest of their line up.
    signed,
SO SICK OF IDOL AND ALL ‘FOR REAL’ SHOWS AND BY THE WAY ‘HOUSE’ IS ONLY GOOD SHOW BESIDES ‘NCIS’. HEROES MADE THE MISTAKE OF NOT HAVING ENOUGH SHOWS READY IN THE MIDDLE, THEY DESTROYED THEIR OWN MOJO.

  • lindsey

How do you figure that Castle is steadily moving towards the renewal point when it’t ratings keep dropping week by week?

  • sam

I hope that they renew Castle. I really disliked the first show, but have grown to really enjoy it more very week. Nathan is adorable and very funny. The show has a lot of potential if they give it a chance.

  • shelly

Add me to the list of people who wants a Castle renewal. The cast is so fun and Nathan Fillion is absolutely brilliant!

  • Jim

I hope they pick up “Better Off Ted”

  • MP

    Must renew BETTER OFF TED!!!

  • Darrin

Castle has really started to hit its stride, I hope it comes back, and Better Off Ted is flat out great. Are you listening, ABC??

  • Pam

Every time we get some interesting shows that actually seem to be worth watching they get cancelled. I loved Life on Mars (bummed it got cancelled.) I love Castle and the Unusuals. They will probably cancel it because why be a rebel and actually have an intersting show on.

  • dave

Please, please, please renew The Unusuals and Better Off Ted! Those are the only new shows that I have watched this year (besides shows that already got canceled, i.e. Life On Mars). Don’t disappoint me again ABC!

  • Samantha

I hate the fact that like half the shows on this list are “reality” show (and I use the term loosely). It’s sad. But they better renew Castle, it’s one of my new favorite shows. Nathan Fillion was so awesome on OLTL and I’m glad to not only see him back on TV but on primetime, heading a show at that! I’m still not over the fact that they canceled my beloved Boston Legal.
