Disney/Pixar’s upcoming computer-animated film Up has received a PG rating from the MPAA for "some peril and action." The rating is now being featured on the movie’s official website. This is only Pixar’s second feature to receive a PG rating, after 2004’s The Incredibles; all the others have been rated G. Up will be released in theaters on May 29.

Wow. I expected it to be G. It doesn’t really seem like an extremely risky film.
Pixar violence??? awesome!!! i guess villains die like in Incredibles which had a good amount of death!…
What in the blue hell is “peril action”? I would understand if it was “penile action” THAT would be rated R

I bet “peril” means Ed Asner’s funny quips!
I saw “UP” at a special screening in Austin the other day — fabulous film, parents will particularly enjoy this one — and there is some “peril action” so the PG rating sounds deserved — not as much as “Incredibles” but I can see the rating — doesn’t matter — it’s wonderful –
I cannot WAIT for the latest Pixar film to open. I will be there with my children on opening day! It’s hard to pick my favorite Pixar film, but it’s a close tie between Finding Nemo and The Incredibles.
Hey Adam. It says “Some Peril AND action”. Do yourself a favor, learn to read!
Yah, after seeing the first 45 minutes at NYCC I expected a PG rating. In the first half of the movie there’s an implied miscarriage, as well as what seems like the first instance of blood in a Pixar movie.
It’s very good though.
my 5 yr old was crushed. I came home the other day & he said “I’ve got bad news…UP is PG” Why cant they at least make a G version of these kid oriented films for the 4-7 yr old crowd that LOVE movie & then get marketed to like CRAZY on TV, at fast food stops…etc!
Makes me frustrated
