Food Network has announced eight new programs, Variety reports. The shows include Chefs vs. City, in which two expert chefs will travel to a different city in each episode to compete against local chefs; and Extreme Cuisine With Jeff Corwin, in which Corwin will sample exotic foreign foods. Also debuting, and taking a cue from South Park, is What Would Brian Boitano Make?, in which the former Olympic figure skater will cook "amazing food for a new event in each episode," according to Food Network.

Chefs vs. City = incredibly LAME. That horrible show with that horrible Blobby Flay was quite bad enough…we don’t need another version of the same garbage.
Extreme Cuisine With Jeff Corwin = are you freaking kidding me? There are already at least two other shows like this – Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern and Anthony Bourdain’s show. Adding the very unfunny (though he thinks he’s humorous) Jeff Corwin to a third rip-off version is beyond desperate.
I hope I don’t have to block out the Food Network the way I did with HGTV when it went to 24 hours of House Hunters episodes per day.
Or, paul, you know, you could, like, turn the television off every once in awhile and enjoy other forms of entertainment… Socializing with humanity, for instance.
Hope they use one of these lame shows to replace the even lamer Ace of Cakes which is the same every week. AofC is nothing more than an infomercial. How do I go about getting free advertising.
What would Brian Boitano Make? Loves it!!! LOL
He would kick an ass or two, that’s what Brian Boitano’d do…
they all sound pretty lame to me seems like foodtv is grasping at straws
The only shows on Food Network worth watching anymore are Good Eats, Will Work for Food, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Ace of Cakes, Challenge, and Paula Deen. These new shows are just new versions of old shows. Chef vs City sounds just like Throwdown with Bobby Flay, Extreme Cuisine is just like the show on Travel Channel with Andrew Zimmern, and the Brian Boitano one sounds like Dinner Impossible, but lame. Really, Food Network has some creative shows, but then they also have Rachael Ray and these other lame shows. Personally, I think they should give Guy Fieri, Adam Gertler and Alton Brown more shows! I would also like to see the “big-name” chefs participate in a challenge and be judged by Kari Vincent on their cake-making skills…Most of them would probably cry.
I like the new Family Style show but maybe because I’m Italian – not Sicilian…..better. But I cannot believe they are doing a show with MO – do those people ever do any charity work or speak nicely to groups – they are always on TV, in Magazines, and now on a cooking show that I happen to like? I’m disappointed and sort of disgusted.
When can we expect to bring back the old past clasic show’s? lets try Julia C, Justin Wilson, Frank Davis, Paul Purdom, Walk with Yan, Galloping Gourmet Graham Kerr and so on!
