Demetri Martin cast in Soderbergh's 'Moneyball'

Actor/doodling comedian Demetri Martin–the geeky-funny comic mastermind behind Comedy Central’s sketch-and-sketching variety show Important Things With Demetri Martin–has been cast in director Steven Soderbergh’s adaptation of Moneyball, the acclaimed non-fiction book chronicling the wonky genius of Major League Baseball businessman Billy Beane. According to Variety, which broke the story, Martin would star opposite Soderbergh’s Ocean’s 11/12/13 chum, Brad Pitt, and play the role of stat wizard Paul De Podesta. 2009 is quickly shaping up to be a breakout year for nerdy funnyman: Martin is also headlining Ang Lee’s Taking Woodstock, scheduled for a Aug. 14 release.

I’ve tried watching his show, and I just can’t. He’s not funny and irritates the hell out of me.

Demetri Martin produces the most intellignent humor of any comedian I have seen yet. All the haters can just suck it!
