Will & Grace star Debra Messing is reuniting with the writer/producers of The Starter Wife for a new NBC comedy. The untitled pilot is one of many incorporating the current economy into its plot:Messing will play a laid-off CEO who struggles with her new role as a full-timewife and mother, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

What are they going to have her do? Not know what a vacuum cleaner is, or get confused when confronted with a pile of dirty dishes?
I don’t see it getting picked up, or airing more than four eppys. This is NBC after all. Wish USA would not of canceled the Starter Wife. All the crap stuff they got on there.
really…? i love debra, but the concept is kind of a turn-ff. it’s bad enough almost every other show on the air right now has incorporated the ecomoy into story linees. i’m tired of even hearing the WORD “economy”, and anything having to do with it.

Anyway, I too am sick of all the shows about the economy. By the time they come out the economy could be better and then we won’t want to watch this junk. They probably hope the economy does bad so their shows don’t seem dated… these execs get big bucks either way. God these execs picking these shows are stupid.
Debra Messing looks so gross now. And why can’t NBC work with new talent instead of the same writers/actors. I don’t get it, one show fails so let’s just do another? Isn’t that the def. of a crazy person. NBC… nothing but crazy.
I loved Starter Wife and I’m sad to see her back at NBC a network which has lame comedies, abysmal dramas, and 700 hours of Jay Leno.
I love her. She’ll be great. She even crossed-over to the big screen in fine form with some pretty good movies. She’ll shine on NBC, can’t wait!
Oh yes… the wedding date. A milestone in American Romantic Comedies. LMAO.
Debra Messing is very funny and talented. Please let’s not forget WILL & GRACE ran for 8 seasons on NBC.
THANK GOD !!! …. I have missed Starter wife like none other. Have searched high and low for another show like it and no luck!!
What an overated actress; she is absolutely NOTHING without Eric McCormick, Sean Hayes or Megan Mullally – in otherwords, ANYONE could have played Grace. The Starter Wife flopped …proof positve that she lacks talent and cannot carry a show. Anyone remember the show Ned and Stacey? That show only lasted 2 seasons and would surely been pulled much earlier if not for Thomas Haden Church. I have nothing against Deborah Messing except that she’s touted as a rose, who’s performance is more like a pesky weed.
