Entertainer Rosie O’Donnell was among the millions of Americans who were blown away by Susan Boyle’s performance at Britain’s Got Talent. Interviewed while showcasing her artwork at a Florida gallery on Sunday, O’Donnell told People the world should "enjoy (Boyle’s performance) for what it was." "Here is this freaky miss, a fat, ugly girl, like Shrek comes to life, directing energy towards her soul," O’Donnell told the magazine. "This was so rare … something authentic in a world that is usually manufactured. It was a perfect moment which will never happen again."

I’m not sure that calling Ms. Boyle “fat” and “ugly” is really the right mindset. I know there was a compliment somewhere in there, but it was a very backhanded compliment, and I think we all could do without that kind of negativity. Poor Susan Boyle. How awful she must feel reading things like that.

Susan has an amazing voice and an unconventional appearance in a world which seems to believe only people who look like Jessica Simpson or Britney are capable of singing.
But I would hardly call her freaky or ugly and I would especially refrain from such comments if I looked like Rosie.

Rosie O’Donnel comment is describing her own self. Remember whatever your heart is full of Your own mouth speaks. Susan Boyle is not ugly, freaky or fat. Rosie is.. the difference is Susan is light as a feather as she sang her dream that was fulfilled instantly.
What Rosie said was mean spirited and ugly. What someone looks like has nothing to do with their abilities, what they carry inside. What a disappointment Rosie is particulraly is she is teaching this rude, crude, insensitivity to her children. Rosie is more damaged from losing her mother at an early age than I ever could have imagined. Get some help and allow others to have their moment to shine
