Oprah Winfrey announced today that she is pulling today’s scheduled show on the ten year anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre. "After reviewing [the episode]," Winfrey wrote on her Facebook page, "I thought it focused too much on the killers. Today, hold a thought for the Columbine community. This is a hard day for them." A show about mothers released from prison will air in its place.

Why couldn’t they focus on school shootings since then, or what we can do to make the schools safer. Or at least honour the victims.

Thank you, OPRAH, for getting it right & pulling your show’s hour of the 10th Anniversary of the Columbine tragedy. You
do have a heart, after all. My prayers are
with all the survivors and the family members who lost their loved ones in this
senseless crime. May God hold you in Her/His
comforting arms today.
Good on her. It’s nice to see some sensitivity and responsibility in this exploitative freak-show media. Between this and 30 Rock, I can almost forgive the whole “Secret” thing. Almost

She’s still a f*cking pig.
They could have also done a show about cruel, excessive bullying in highschools instead, and ways to prevent such behavior, so that we don’t have future Columbines.
Tony, a show about “cruel, excessive bullying” would not be appropriate in this case. That aspect of the story has been completely disproven. The killers were not bullyed. They were psychopathic killers. There has been lots of informaton about this in the media lately. Check it out.
Oprah claims that she pulled the ep because it foucused too much on the killers. But one of the guests on the show was an author who just published a book (which I am currently reading) that delves into debunking the “myths” about the Columbine shooting, which were perpetuated by the media. Perhaps, realizing that this was that case was why Ooprah decided to pull it. This makes her complicit in keeping these falsehoods alive. If she really cared, she’d slap an “oprah Book Club” sticker on the cover, and try to help spread the truth, so this type of tragedy would never happen again.
Everything Oprah does is for her own glorification. Can’t stand her.
We are the Columbine Families of the dead and injured. We are asking for a complete independent investigation of the tragedy. We need the truth exposed to heal. Please visit our website.
