Harry Kalas, the Hall of Fame broadcaster who was the voice of baseball’s Philadelphia Phillies and football’s NFL Films, died Monday in Washington, D.C., after collapsing in the broadcast booth shortly before a matchup between the Phillies and Washington Nationals. He was 73. A Philadelphia insitution for four decades, Kalas had been calling Phillies games and treating audiences to his signature home run call — "Outta here!" — since 1971. Nationally, his deep baritone was synonymous with NFL Films, and his weekly highlights were a staple of the hit program Inside the NFL on HBO and Showtime.
