TNT has canceled its low-rated dramedy Trust Me, starring Eric McCormack (Will & Grace) and Tom Cavanagh (Ed), according to The New York Times. The show, about two best friends and coworkers in a fictional Chicago advertising agency, lasted just 13 episodes. Michael Wright, head of programming for TNT, said the show simply failed to find an audience, averaging a meek 1.4 million viewers per episode since its debut in January.

I put the blame on the casting directors. Eric McCormack and Tom Cavanaugh were just playing variations of their previous characters. Shrill Will Truman and quirky oddball Ed. If the actors reversed their roles and played against type, it might have worked. Otherwise we were stuck seeing the same old schtick in a promising premise.
We loved the show. The character development through the first season was great and we were looking forward to finding out what happened to each person. We were not familiar with any of the actors – so we didn’t feel like it was the same anything – it was fresh and new and extremely funny and warm and sad too – It was a fantastic show!!
Tom Cavanagh is horrible… he just does not have it… i hope this is his last gig…
The main problem with the two leads was their supporting cast. Every time Griffin Dunne came on screen you were reminded what an actor was. Ed and Will were just personalities.
I watched the first 15mins of ep 1 and was so bored. Good riddance. When one of the BEST shows currently on tv is about the ad world (MAD MEN), there is NO need to add another.

I am a big Tom Cavanagh fan and was really hoping this show would be great. I can’t really say that I am surprised or upset about the cancellation but I did tune in pretty regularly. I guess I will just have to wait (and pray) for ED to come out on DVD.
Not surprised at all. Even I gave up on this show after a few episodes. And it takes a lot to get me to stop watching a show. I tend to hold on to the bitter end.
i blame Tom Cavanagh… he just bugs people… Tom Cavanagh is weird looking and a horrible actor
Knew this was coming after McCormack signed on to new show…oh well.
I, for one, loved the show…Finally, they actually have a good drama that does not involve crime scenes or cops or government agencies…and then they cancel it!! I’m heartbroken…
This is a smart and entertaining show. I looked forward to each and every episode. Fantastic play on product placement, ala “Devil Wears Prada”. It’s a mistake to cancel it, and I plead for TNT to rethink the decision. BUMMER!!!!
What a shame. Wonderful show. I will miss it!
Seriously? Does Nielsen factor in folks that catch shows via the web? I’ve watched every episode on tnt.tv and I think it’s a wonderful series. Smart, witty and brilliantly paced. IF web viewings are not being factored in, Nielsen needs to be replaced with a more accurate service… Please, TNT, reconsider.
I’m bummed. The 1st couple episodes were mediocre, but the last 5 or 6 episodes were great. Tom Kavanuagh is awesome. His character was getting very interesting. Ya know, even Seinfeld took time to get an audience !!
The first couple of episodes were mediocre at best, and then the light went on, and the last half of the season was truly awesome. Well written, well acted, we loved it. I haven’t looked forward to a show’s new episode quite like this in a long time. Please reconsider.
I loved that series! Lately anytime I get hooked up on a series, it gets cancelled. It’s almost not worth to start watching anything new, because TV stations don’t follow up… TNT, ABC you guys cancelled so many good shows it becomes pathetic!!!
