Stupid Stupid Stupid …I will boycott any show and especially a game show put in the old Guiding Light spot. Someone has no brains or they wouldn’t have canx GL.

I hate game shows almost as much as reality shows, guess I won’t need to watch tv so much now. Guilding Light has been a great show. I will miss it.

While I am a huge Guiding Light fan, I am afraid they are in fact going to move the show. My biggest fear – the replacement..another game show, ugh, or worse yet another JUDGE show (zzzz). Give the Daytime viewer a little credit. Really, how about thinking outside of the box….. CBS and P&G should look at replacing it with Kim’s Closet – a new, refreshing lifestyle and makeover show. They are saying the host Kimberly is going to do for fashion what Rachel Ray has done for food – make it fun. Finally, a fun, relatable daytime lifestyle show… http://www.KimsCloset.TV

Does anyone remember how gut-wrenching it was when Holly shot Roger, he faked his death, she was in jail — little Christina cried every time she had to leave from seeing her mommy. Yet when they brought Holly & Roger back, they didn’t even pair her with Ed???? And they ended up writing both Ed and Holly out…… there are a few former Exec Producers I’d LOVE to have 5 minutes with, as well. It sounds like all of us who are upset are educated, professionals who understand the daytime drama industry better than those making the decisions! Frustrating!
I have been so frustrated with all of the writing regimes that decimated such a strong show over the last decade — and P & G or CBS appeared to have sat back and let it happen, always going for a new “gimmick” to get higher ratings. That Reva clone storyline was just plain ridiculous ….they wrote off Michael Tylo and Lisa Brown because of it (check out the Quola website) and the show has never bounced back.

I’d LOVE to have just 5 minutes with the powers-that-be at CBS daytime, P & G, or even SoapNet!
Coming from someone who created and produced a weekly college soap opera years ago, with budget constraints and the like… and someone who has watched several soaps during my entire lifetime……if the GL powers that be would listen to those of us who helped give the show #1 ratings back in the 80’s…who are now raising children who watch TV with us…. there wouldn’t be any ratings issues. Grass roots America needs a voice in these network decisions.. the game of “revolving producers and writers” that GL played for so many years didn’t work.. they needed a solid, cohesive vision.. the foundation laid by Agnes Nixon and Douglas Marland. Creativity with storylines motivated by characters that viewers connect with and entertain … NOT characters thrown in just to make a change or add some spice. That type of action (like the clone storyline) is only a band-aid to the problem…it doesn’t heal the wound completely.
Ratings problems at GL began when previous producers were given too much freedom to decimate the core Bauer and Reardon families. Ed Bauer, Mike Bauer, Nola, and Quint BELONG on that canvas…they’d bring in the new families like the mob one or the Coopers that never had any long-staying power because they had no history with the show. Lisa Brown is one of, it not the best, actress to ever grace daytime TV. I understand the need to create fresh storylines and new engaging characters — but IT DOESN’T WORK! History shows it over and over again… GL had HUGE ratings 10 – 15 years ago. If a small fraction came back with a revamped, back – to – basics show –with core characters that need to be there (like Nola and even Hope Bauer Spaulding), and if the network promoted the show properly in prime time, viewers would come back. I don’t think the network ever promoted Joan Collins in prime time when she joined as Alexandra Spaulding – prime time viewers would have FLOCKED to watch!

Although I never saw much for GL sense they took away hope and bo I Do agree with most of the comments so far. Putting a game show back on is kind of lame. I guess its better then more bob barker reruns but it would be nice to have a “change”..ya know? something new? different? exciting maybe? I think you guys are showing poor judgment again I hope it don’t cost you the whole station. You know whats sad is its not just GL or ATWT’s its a lot of shows on this station going belly up. You guys should look at what your doing wrong maybe and not what these old time good shows are doing wrong.

GL is better now than it has been in YEARS. The audience is growing too with Otalia helping to build the fanbase. CBS is making a mistake.

Although older people watch the game shows etc. nothing can replace guiding light. I grew up watching this show please keep it on.

What idiot decided to kill Guilding Light.. my mother and I are both love this show..SAVE GUILDING LIGHT..it goes so do alot of viewers, if I want to see Pyramids I’ll watch the game channel..

What’s the matter with Guilding light?? We have watch all these people grow with us we relate to some of the things they do don’t take it off I’m not watching that other show you lost me
