On Cablevision – they changed the show to air at 10 AM – did anybody that might be a problem? Put it back to the original 3 PM slot and see what happens to the ratings!!!!

I will boycot CBS for taking Guiding Light off the air. Replacing it with another game show is rediculas. What about us older woman who don’t work anymore and have been loyal to
GL for 47 years. Recording it during the day when we did work. I Say boycot!!!!

Canceling Guiding Light is another stupid move for CBS. Just one more straw to it heading down hill to be beat out but ABC. The game network is being canceled not enough viewwers, shouldnt this tell CBS something!

BOOOOOOO!!!!! I HATE gameshows!! They are BORING!
Shame on you CBS for turning your back on a show that has brought you thousands upon thousands of loyal viewers.

What kills me is the articles stating their are no stay-at-home moms anymore to watch it.. Well perhaps if the ratings considered hits on CBS.com, and DVR/VCR recordings I bet the numbers would be a heck of a lot higher! the ratings system is pathetically out of date.. Pyramid, really????

Oh my. Talk about forward thinking and cutting edge, CBS. You cancel a show that is literally reinventing the genre in front of our eyes, garnering publicity and kudos everywhere, and simmering the first real supercouple of the 21st century. And you’re going to replace it with a retread of a game show that ran its course decades ago?
    Uhm, why????”
Kate, you hit the nail on the head. This makes no sense at all. Someone at CBS is making a terrible mistake! This show is loved by its fans like no other show on TV.

I can’t believe it! I’ve been watching for 35 years! The nielsons are meaningless and backwards…everyone DVR’s stuff now and for years we videotaped our favorite shows also! The real numbers need to include people who watch the show later. Guiding Light was the last show I watched on CBS because with so many intelligent shows being canceled without warning and mindless gameshows and reality shows replacing them, I felt like my time was better spent watching non-network television. Well CBS, instead of moving into the future by counting people who record shows, you have stayed behind the line and lost another cbs family. Good luck to you when the only people left who watch your station are the unemployed who can’t buy your sponser’s products anyway.

I am very sad that CBS would cancel Guiding Light. I am 39 yr old and have watched for 30 plus years. What a stupid idea to put another game show on. There are other soaps that should be canceled. CBS is not seeing what a mistake this is.

I cant believe that you’re seriously going to cancel Guiding Light. I’ts all part of CBS history! You can’t do it. There are many thousands of fans out here, the nielsons are crap!!!!!Keep GL!!!!

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of vuiaors subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.I have bookmarked, Dugg, and I joined the RSS subscription. Thanks! ….

Although older people watch the game shows etc. nothing can replace guiding light. I grew up watching this show please keep it on.

GL is better now than it has been in YEARS. The audience is growing too with Otalia helping to build the fanbase. CBS is making a mistake.

Although I never saw much for GL sense they took away hope and bo I Do agree with most of the comments so far. Putting a game show back on is kind of lame. I guess its better then more bob barker reruns but it would be nice to have a “change”..ya know? something new? different? exciting maybe? I think you guys are showing poor judgment again I hope it don’t cost you the whole station. You know whats sad is its not just GL or ATWT’s its a lot of shows on this station going belly up. You guys should look at what your doing wrong maybe and not what these old time good shows are doing wrong.
