According to information released from Focus Features today, production began in L.A. last week for a film helmed by writer-director Noah Baumbach (Margot at the Wedding, The Squid and the Whale) and featuring Ben Stiller, himself a bit of an auteur (he starred in, directed and co-wrote both Tropic Thunder and Zoolander).
Stiller plays Roger Greenberg, a man "at a crossroads in his life" who, while house-sitting for his brother in LA, forges an unlikely relationship with his brother’s assistant, an aspiring singer played by Greta Gerwig of 2007′s Hannah Takes the Stairs. Baumbach’s wife, actress Jennifer Jason Leigh, will co-star, alongside Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill) and Brie Larson (United States of Tara).
