Josh Schwartz, the producer behind NBC’s Chuck, The CW’s Gossip Girl, and Fox’s The O.C., is set to write and make his feature directorial debut with a new movie adaptation of the 1984 Jay McInerney novel Bright Lights, Big City, Variety reports. The story is about a disillusioned magazine writer who uses drugs, alcohol, andnightly carousing to deal with the mess that is his life. The novel was previously the basis of a 1988 movie starring Michael J. Fox and Kiefer Sutherland.

Im actually stoked for this. If the remake is actually true to the novel, then maybe they will make a faithful Less Than Zero as well

It means nothing. He already produces 3 shows that are currently on the air plus he’s adding the gossip girl spin off to that. He’ll make the time to attend to all of his projects. he always does.
why would you remake that? The MJF movie was perfect. It was even adapted by McInerney himself.

I love your show the oc, it is my favorite in the world, i just finished them on dvd, and the last season is my favorite in the whole oc!!! i wanted you to make a new season and explained whta happened after everybody went their seperate ways, it wud be awsome!!! or you cud do a movie!!! luv your work and your other shows like gossip girl and chuck.
