A 44-year-old development executive for NBC died on the set of the new pilot Parenthood April 29, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Nora O’Brien collapsed from a brain aneurysm during a taping of the new drama that stars Peter Krause, Maura Tierney and Erika Christensen. O’Brien joined NBC in 2008.

Swine flu delays 'Angels & Demons' and other movies in Mexico
According to Variety, Sony will postpone Angels & Demons release in Mexico for a month, due to the swine flu outbreak. The studio is also moving its Mexican release of Terminator Salvation from its June 5 date back to July 31. Fox has pushed X-Men Origins: Wolverine back two weeks to May 15 and Paramount has postponed its May 8 Star Trek date, though a new one has not yet been announced. Movie theaters in Mexico are currently closed to prevent further spread of the virus.
Tyra Banks' stalker guilty; won't do jail time
Brady Green, the 39-year-old Brooklyn supermarket employee accused of following supermodel-turned-talkshow-host Tyra Banks, and threatening over the phone to slit the throat of one of her show’s staffers who did not provide him access to the set, has been found guilty of both stalking and harassment, a day after Banks testified against him in a New York City courtroom.
Criminal Court Judge James Burke declined to sentence the man to jail time (he could have faced 90 days), telling the defendant’s lawyer: "Put Mr. Green in a location where he can thrive," Burke said. "And that location is not likely to be the city of New York."
Said the attorney Jeffrey Berman, "I’m disappointed with the verdict, but I’m glad the judge did not send him to jail." An order of protection, however, was extended by the judge.
Disney partners with Hulu
The Walt Disney Company, through a subsidiary of ABC Enterprises Inc., has joined NBC Universal, News Corporation, and Providence Equity Partners as a partner and equity owner of the online content aggregator Hulu, the two companies announced today. Disney/ABC content that will be made available on Hulu under the new arrangement will include ad-supported full-length episodes of Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Private Practice, Ugly Betty, Scrubs, Greek, Hope & Faith, Less than Perfect, Wizards of Waverly Place, Phineas and Ferb, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, General Hospital, The View, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager as well as some Disney library feature films.
Rainn Wilson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt sign on for 'Hesher'
According to the Hollywood Reporter Rainn Wilson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have joined the cast of indie dramedy Hesher. The pair will appear in the film alongside Natalie Portman.
New Amy Sedaris book to be published next year
Grand Central Publishing have announced that comedienne and author Amy Sedaris is planning to write a follow-up to her book on entertaining, I Like You: Hospitality Under The Influence. The currently untitled tome by the Strangers with Candy star has been slated for publication in the Fall of next year.
Miss California to star in ad opposing same-sex marriage
According to CNN MissCalifornia Carrie Prejean will appear in an ad funded by the NationalOrganization for Marriage, an organization committed to opposingsame-sex marriage. Prejean had previously expressed her preference forwhat she described as "opposite marriage" (that between a man and awoman) in the course of the Miss USA pageant.
Sumner Redstone to Jay Leno: 'CSI' will 'beat the hell' out of you
According to the Hollywood Reporter CBS chairman Sumner Redstone declared yesterday that CSI will "beat the hell" out of Jay Leno when the comedian moves to his new 10pm timeslot. Redstone was talking to Larry King at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills. The CBS chairman, who is 85, also said he had no intention of dying. "I’m going to live forever" Redstone claimed.
Julianne Hough not coming back for Season 9 of 'Dancing with the Stars'
Two-time Dancing with the Stars winner Julianne Hough says she won’t return for the ninth season of the show, reports Access Hollywood. The dancer revealed her decision after being eliminated from the competition on Tuesday along with her partner (and real-life boyfriend), singer Chuck Wicks. Hough made a similar claim after season seven of the show but changed her mind when asked to dance with Wicks. Hough also has a career as a country singer; her self-titled debut album reached the top of Billboard’s country album chart last year. Hough is still under contract to appear in future seasons of the show.
'Deal or No Deal' moves to Connecticut
Game show Deal or No Deal will begin shooting in Connecticut this summer to take advantage of hefty tax breaks, reports Variety. The state offers a 30% production credit, which has already lured shows like Jerry Springer and Maury. The game show’s new home in Waterford, Conn. is approximately 120 miles northeast of New York City.
