Jennifer Aniston narrates kids book

Jennifer Aniston and her father John (Days of Our Lives) have teamed up to narrate the bonus CD of a new children’s book by Nick Katsoris called Loukoumi’s Good Deeds. Other celebs who contributed to the project include singer Gloria Gaynor, actress Olympia Dukakis, CBS news anchor Alexis Christoforous, and former American Idol contestant Constantine Maroulis. Priced at $15.95, Loukoumi’s Good Deeds will be released on April 1 by Dream Day Press/NK Publications, with proceeds benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Interactive 'Survivor: Live' stage show hits theme parks

CBS’ flagship reality show Survivor is headed to three theme parks this summer in the form of a stage show. Survivor: Live will debut May 2 at Denver’s Elitch Gardens and Oklahoma City’s Frontier City, then open May 23 at the Darien Lake Theme Park Resort inDarien Center, N.Y., Variety reports. The half-hour show will divide the audience into four "tribes," and volunteers will compete in challenges that ultimately crown a winner (who will not receive $1 million).

Liv Tyler cast in 'The Romantics'

Liv Tyler will star in the movie adaptation of Galt Niederhoffer’s novel The Romantics, which EW dubbed "Droll and sophisticated… a winning screwball comedy." It revolves around college friends who reunite for a seaside wedding. Variety reports Tyler will play Laura, the maid of honor, who begins to wonder what she has in common with her pals — and if her relationship with the groom is really past tense. Niederhoffer will write and direct the independent film.

Colbert wins vote in NASA naming contest

Colbert Nation strikes again: The top vote-getter in NASA’s contest to name a new room on the international space station is Colbert. According to the AP, 230,539 people voted for the satirist’s name, beating out NASA’s most popular suggestion, Serenity, by over 40,000 votes. The contest rules say that NASA will "take into consideration" the results of the vote, but that those results are "non-binding," so it’s not clear yet what name the agency will select.

'Parenthood' casts Peter Krause, Maura Tierney

NBC’s upcoming reincarnation of Parenthood is fleshing out its cast. Peter Krause and Maura Tierney are set to star as brother and sister, and Craig T. Nelson will play their father, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Mae Whitman will play Tierney’s rebellious teenage daughter, Sarah Ramos will play Krause’s daughter, and Dax Shepard will play Krause and Tierney’s youngest sibling.

'Twilight': The wolf pack is cast

Summit Entertainment has revealed that five Native American/First Nation actors will join Taylor Lautner as members of the wolf pack in The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The announced actors are Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon, and Tyson Houseman. Werewolf characters, in particular Lautner’s Jacob Black, will figure prominently in New Moon, due in theaters on Nov. 20.

Michael Bay to receive award at ShoWest

ShoWest, the annual movie theater industry event held in Las Vegas, will honor filmmaker Michael Bay with its 2009 Vanguard Award, according to Variety. The convention runs March 30-April 2, while Bay’s next picture, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is set to invade theaters on June 24.

'Love 'n' Dancing' to be released by Screen Media Films

Variety reports that Screen Media Films has acquired the distribution rights to Love ‘n’ Dancing, a romantic comedy starring Amy Smart, Billy Zane, Rachel Dratch, Betty White, and Tom Malloy (who also wrote the script). In the movie, directed by Robert Iscove (She’s All That), Smart plays an English teacher who must choose between her fiance (Zane) and a champion swing dancer (Malloy). A release date hasn’t been set yet.

Cartoon Network and NBA sign a deal

Cartoon Network and the National Basketball Association have signed a programming deal that will include the production of a reality series called My Dad’s a Pro, Variety reports. The show, which is slated to air this fall, will examine the daily lives of NBA stars’ children. It’s the first of several "programming initiatives" between the NBA and Cartoon Network.

Crosby, Stills & Nash announce 40th anniversary world tour

Folk/rock legends Crosby, Stills & Nash will celebrate 40 years in the music industry with a world tour that will begin in the U.S. this June, reports AFP. After hitting seven cities Stateside, the band — consisting of David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash — will move on to England, Ireland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and finish in Scotland on July 11.
