LOGO has greenlit a second season of the network’s breakout reality hit, RuPaul’s Drag Race, which is set to air in early 2010. A mash up of America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway, the competition series searches for "America’s Next Drag Superstar" and is hosted by renowned drag queen RuPaul. The first installment of the series was the three-year-old network’s most successful series launch and drove LOGOonline.com to its highest traffic levels ever.
The first season’s finale aired on the ad-supported gay and lesbian network (which is owned by MTV) this past Monday, March 23, and saw Bebe Zahara Benet sashay away with the title. Benet won a headlining spot on the Absolut Pride Tour; a feature photo spread in Paper magazine; a portrait by renowned photographer Greg Gorman for the l.a. Eyeworks legendary designer eyewear campaign; and $20,000. Casting for the second season begins May 1.

I haven’t watched the finale yet, so I spoiled myself for who won – but I’m just glad it wasn’t Rebecca. I was so hoping Ongina would win, but Bebe and Nina were my other two favorites, so I was glad to see either one of them win it.

Glad the show is getting picked up but hated the winner who acts and looks older than RuPaul herself. Hopefully more money will be spent on the show next time out and that Ru will resist the call to Tyra and pick a “role model” for a winner.
I love love this show. I just watched my DVR last night to see who won & watched the reunion show. Glad Miss Bebe was the winner but would have been equally pleased if Nina Flowerrs won(I wish there was a tie). Bebe is elegant, I love Nina’s personality & her look was unique(killer cheekbones), Shannel is pretty yet cocky as hell & Ongina, well she has so much spunk and how can you not love that name! There should be a Drag Sex & the City starring Bebe, Nina, Shannel & Ongina because I would so watch that show! The 4 of them living together in Vegas & drinking cocktails. Very glad Rebecca Glassuck did not win. Sure she was pretty but had zero personality & I seriously wanted to strangle her with the constant gum chewing. I like Jade(there are still too many MF snakes on the plane ha ha). Akasha dressed & look too much like New York from I Love NY & that is not a compliment. And of course after watching show, I have CoverGirl stuck in my head & will download on my Ipod.
I loved Nina and Bebe… but I really thought Nina should have taken it…. she is such a sweetheart…..
You must now Lip-Synch for your Life! Oh please please let there be a recap for season 2! As Miss Nina would say, this show is so Extravaganzaaaaa!! I wish only Nina and Bebe were in RuPaul’s music video and not Rebecca aka Barbie Doll. Nina & Bebe were having so much fun shooting the video and I loved how Nina was flinging her jet black ponytail around. I have to admit, the first show when I first saw Nina I did not like her look because it was so punk but when they had to design on a dime, she became one of my favorites. She deserved to be Miss Congeniality. Belle you are right, her cheekbones are A-MA-ZING. I loved when Bebe walked down the runway she shimmy her shoulders as a salute to Ongina. I guess Shannel just needs validation all of the time that she is gorgeous & fab body. Ru made a valid point when she said the ladies don’t need the judges or anyone to tell them they are beautiful, they have to believe in herself. REMEMBER EW ONLINE, DON’T F**K IT UP HAVE A RECAP Season 2!

I loved this show! My daughter told me about it, and at first I said,”Oh no, not another Top Model Show”, but hats off to RuPaul for breaking the mold! The Queens on this show put every winner of top model to SHAME! They looked better, and acted more like ladies, than any of the “real” reality women, since reality tv became popular.LOL. This show brought me fondly back to my days of walking the Balls.(I won Face 2 years in a row 1983-1984) I can’t wait for season 2, 3, 4, etc. Good luck to Miss Bebe, for snatching the trophy, and Miss Nina, you are a winner in my heart.
I tried to resist this show as my junk reality plate is full. But I got sucked in during a weekend marathon. I like that Ru seems to really care about the queens and I especially liked the Reunion ep where she let everyone come out individually (in sashay order even) and gave each one generous air time. Plus some of the lines were brilliant (in regard to one contestant’s repeated tucking issues “There are still too many snakes on this plane.” Hilarious)

This show had me stuck from the beginning. And RuPaul still looks amazing! I am so glad Bebe won because she is just elegant in whatever she does. I also think 2010 is too long to wait for Season 2. They should have had those queens already lined up fo auditioning, like the do the other reality shows. I can’t wait! Love you Ru!

The show beats Tyra Banks by a long shot… I cant stand Tyra Banks, she is so damn Fake, But Rupaul is funny as hell and those queens are something else. My goodness they are beautiful. If I were a man and wanted to look like a woman I would have them do my makeup…WHEW!!!

Ru paul ur the best making by making a lot of these drag queens dream come true .I think u did a very good job by kicking rebbeca she problaly would have ran of the shows any ways like she always did con grads bebe u where so beautifull …miss leopard nina I love her …loca …. she sure had a way to make the other girls laugh jade was georguos snakes on the plane …got to love that ru.. Ongina needs to wear some hair its ok to do it once but not all the times ..akashi ..
