Dennis Quaid will play Bill Clinton, Julianne Moore will play Hillary Clinton, and Frost/Nixon star Michael Sheen will once again play Tony Blair in The Special Relationship, a forthcoming HBO film about the global leaders, Variety and other outlets report. The film, which has yet to be greenlit, specifically centers on Bill Clinton’s interactions with Blair around when the British Prime Minister first took office. It is the anticipated directing debut of screenwriter-playwright Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon), who previously wrote The Queen and The Deal, both of which featured Sheen as Blair. Quaid played a character loosely based on George W. Bush in American Dreamz.

I am psyched for this: I loved Sheen and Morgan’s work on “The Queen,” and “The Deal” was pretty good; plus it’s great to hear that Quaid and Moore will be working together again (they were awesome in “Far From Heaven”). Best of luck to everyone involved in getting this made!
Alas, if it’s going to be made for HBO, I’ll have to wait for the DVD…
Will her acting be as hot as usual?

…but the real question is, will it have a theatrical release? or it will be just shown to HBO since the film will produce by the film cable company…alas, ruining the chances of an Oscar winner that is Julianne Moore
this shouldn’t be on HBO, this should be a full cinematic release. i really want to see this. i think julianne moore would actually be quite brilliant as Secretary (then FL) Hillary Clinton
Julianne Moore as Hillary? Really? Hmm.
Dennis Quaid as Bill? Really? Ooookay, that’s kinda odd. But Michael’s always awesome as Tony Blair. Good thing I get HBO, I guess.
I can understand Quaid and definitely Sheen, but Moore will be quite interesting to see hoe successful that it. No matter what, I expect that the movie will get good ratings.
Martine McCutcheon would be a perfect Monica Lewinsky.
