Screenwriter Jesse Wigutow has scored a seven-figure deal to pen the screenplay for a biographical treatment of Steve McQueen, based on the Marshall Terrill biography Steve McQueen: Portrait of an American Rebel. Producers Michael Cerenzie (Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead) and Christine Peters (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) are looking to nail down a director and a star intime for a fall production. Another McQueen-centered film, based on a memoir written by McQueen’s first wife, is also in the works, according to THR.com.
