Cameron Diaz is finishing negotiations with Paramount Pictures for the starring role of an assertive woman who helps a bachelor meet single women in the romantic comedy Swingles, reports Variety. The male role is not yet cast in the film, produced by Kevin Misher (The Interpreter, this summer’s Public Enemies) and written by Duncan Birmingham and Jeff Roda.

Is she ever going to try stepping outside of her safe box and do something other then a romantic comedy. Her and jennifer aniston, thats all they ever do. Boring.
She was in “Gangs of New York” “In Her Shoes (not really a comedy) and “Vanilla Sky” none of which are romantic comedies. She can only do the roles she is offered so this may be why she seems to be in a rut as far as her movie choices are concerned.
