British reality star Jade Goody has lost her very public battle with cervical cancer, EW confirms. The 27-year-old died in her sleep at home in Essex, England, early Sunday morning. She leaves behind husband Jack Tweed, whom she married in a lavish, filmed ceremony last month; and two children, Bobby, 5, and Freddie, 4, from a previous relationship with TV host Jack Brazier.
A favorite British tabloid figure, the former nurse rose to fame on the British version of Big Brother in 2002, polarizing audiences with her brash manner. She didn’t win, but she became a celebrity with her own perfume, fitness video, and autobiography. She revived her waning career with a 2007 appearance on celebrity Big Brother along with her mom and then-boyfriend Tweed — when she evicted after being accused of making racist comments about a costar, Indian actress Shilpa Shetty. But by last year, she was courting fame yet again, signing up for India’s Big Brother. It was two days into that show that her cancer diagnosis was revealed on air. And she continued to welcome the public attention until the end, even causing what the British media dubbed the "Jade Goody effect," an increase in cervical cancer screenings.

People that are leaving negative comments should be ashamed of themselves, its disgusting. Jade’s family are grieving and two young boys have lost their mum on mothers day no less. Have some compassion regardless who she was and what she has done in her short life, everyone makes mistakes and is given second chances. She deserves some respect for campaigning for cervical cancer and some compassion should be shown towards any person who loses their life to such a terrible disease. Rest in Peace Jade
Okay, I didn’t really even know who she was until about 2weeks ago as I never watched any big brother series…but The story grabbed my attention. 27 is so young to die, from anything, but to have a long battle with a disease, to know every day that you will not see your boys grow into men, have children of their own, wed, or find love. It makes me sadder than belief. And for those boys and her husband, mothers day will always be the day they lost their mother. It’s sad and any human, whether they liked her or not, or are from England or not, should be able to relate on a human level as to the saddness of this. Instead, a few A$$holes, have to comment very rudely, probably just to get a rise out of us. That’s pretty sad too, and rather pathetic.
