'The Daily Show': Jon Stewart-Jim Cramer showdown nets big ratings

Tags:

Thursday night’s anticipated appearance by CNBC financial guru Jim Cramer on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show With Jon Stewart netted big ratings, the cable network announced on Friday. The program drew a crowd of some 2.3 million viewers, making it the year’s second-most-watched Daily Show installment, after the episode that aired on Inauguration Day (which garnered 2.6 million pairs of eyeballs). Overall, it was among the top 10 shows in the 12 1/2-year history of the fake news program.

The show was also one of the ten BEST of it’s 12.5 year history. No matter what you think about the matters at hand, you have to give it to Jon Stewart; He asked tough questions and demanded honest answers. I wonder if, some day, he might make an excellent host of an evening news program on a major network. What do you guys think?

stewarts just a liberal piece of garbage like the rest of hollywood. your right though , that does make him mqualified to host the news. look at abc nbc,cbs ,all have liberal commentators headlining the news

Pullitzer material. Lessons for other journos: do some research, grow some balls.

Jon Stewart was absolutely amazing. Finally a comedy show is making these repugs crawl in fear.

Hearing the truth hurts, doesn’t it Jay. As Stephen Colbert once said, “Reality has a well-known liberal bias.”

  • J Ricardo

Why would he want to waste his talent hosting an evening news program on a major network where he’d be obliged to read the same brainwash script as the rest of the mainstream stooges?

To Jay; Stop making conservative Americans look like petty, uneducated idiots. The Daily Show is a comedy program that did what FOX and CNBC failed to do: Report the facts. Cramer was cornered by truth and his own hypocrisy, not political bias.

  • Amos

to Jay — you dismiss another human being as “garbage?” That kind of invalidates any other opinion you might express; it shows you are not thinking rationally.

Hey Jay, Hurts doesn’t it? Go tune into that bouncing glob of fat, Rush. Jon Stewart and Colbert Rock!!! Dems rule!!!!

Your right Jay, Fox has a much better line up of commentators, just look at Glenn Beck… I really wish they’d make a sarcasm buon for they keyboard. While I love Jon Stewart, it’s kinda sad that a comedy show has more honest reporting then most of out networks.

Wow, Jay. It sure must be horrible to think that anyone with a brain is a “liberal piece of garbage.” Heaven forbid that Jon Stewart look out for the interests of you and all the other little guys against the big guys on Wall Street stealing your money. I guess anyone who saves you from a burning house or pulls you from a car wreck is also a “liberal piece of garbage”.

Jay – Maybe you should spend less time complaining about liberal bias, and more time educating yourself – I’d recommend starting with spelling. Stewart was at his very best, if only the real news was half as on point as the fake stuff.

This is at least the third time Cramer’s been on his show. Cramer likes to play the middle and Stewart took advantage of that. Most of Stewart’s statements were just plain fear mongering. It’s a market people, it goes up and down.

Seriously? Dude, you need to pay attention. Cramer is a big-time lib. He’s also a capitalist, but politically, he’s way to the left of center.
Stewart vs Cramer is left-on-left violence :)
