New Line is making a second 3-D Journey to the Center of the Earth movie, The Hollywood Reporter reports. Journey director Eric Brevig has already signed on for the sequel, which will take place on a mysterious island. Stars Brendan Fraser and JoshHutcherson are expected to return as well. The first film brought in $240 million worldwide last year.

My kids and I just finished watching the Journey to the Center of the Earth 10 minutes ago. I was wondering if there would be a sequel because of the Atlantas book ending. And minutes after we finished watching, you post this. Too wierd!
