Tyra Banks to talk about abuse, appear on 'Oprah'

Tagged:

After recently admitting that she’s secretly jealous of Oprah Winfrey, Tyra Banks is joining forces with the talk-show diva over the Rihanna-Chris Brown abuse scandal. Winfrey will air a live episode on dating violence this Thursday. Now, the Associated Press reports, Banks will both appear on that live episode of Oprah — taking about a time when she was emotionally abused by a man she was dating — and will air her own pre-taped episode, on teen dating violence, on The Tyra Banks Show the same day.

Wow, America’s Next Top Self-Promoter & Miss Know It All together, finally! Why don’t they call (telephone) Chris and Rihanna and talk to them instead of doing this on television. Shame on those who like these two, but hate Jason Mesnick for breaking up with Melissa, eh?

Tyra and Oprah annoy me…but I’m glad to see them step up. Too many young woman are defending Chris Brown actions saying it was ok for him to hit Rhianna because she hit him. They need to see that NOBODY has a right to lay his hands on a woman.

Wow Oprah must really need the ratings. And Tyra needs that ego boost. Together they can make Chris Brown’s record sales even higher by giving him even more attention. And multiplatinum multimillionaire Rihanna can handle her dumb self without these two attention whores preaching at her. It’ll be all about them anyway and their fake “problems”.

Um, I don’t hate The Bachelor Jason, love Oprah and like Tyra. I’m curious to see what they have to say about it all, and glad they waited until the affidavits were out instead of jumping on Chris and Rihanna when no one knew a damn thing.

OMG-Tyra can make EVERY situation about her. It is a joke…anytime she has a guest who has expereinced a horrific situation she still relates it back to herself. Apparently this lady has experienced EVERYTHING first hand. Enough already.

I have a love/hate relationship with Oprah and Tyra, but I’m glad they are stepping up to talk about the issue. After reading the detective’s statement about what (allegedly) happened with Chris and Rihanna, and seeing the photos, it’s hard to deny that a beating took place. It’s not uncommon for a victim to return to an abuser, but the message NEEDS to be sent that there are other alternatives to returning. It’s incredibly sad to know that Rihanna reconciled with Chris, without any time passing for either one of them to get real help.

I think all the publicity drawn to the Chris/Rihanna saga is counterproductive The Rihannas of the world r now going to be afraid to come forward fearing the scandalous repercussions Oprah should have reached out to those kids in confidence Chris can b reformed He can change Rihanna’s dad has been on drugs all her life He did not lead by example so How can she know what to look for in a man yet he’s quick to talk to the press Everyone is capitalizing on this when the only one suffering is RiRi Have some real compassion already We can help by respecting their privacy She has already heard our take She now has noone else to turn to but him THANKS She is not only a victim but a poster child for what happens when we tell Sadly the public scorn shoved them right back together Thanks
