'Iron Man 2': Mickey Rourke closes deal to play villain, Whiplash

Categories: Movie Biz

Mickey Rourke, who recently scored an Oscar nomination for The Wrestler, has closed his deal to play the villain in Iron Man 2, Variety is reporting. The 56-year-old actor had reportedly been offered only $250,000 to play the role. On Feb. 18, New York magazine reported that the deal seemed to have fallen apart, although sources told EW the next day that it wasn’t necessarily dead yet. Rourke’s agents have since renegotiated his deal, Variety says, but there’s no word on exactly how much he’ll be paid. Rourke will play a Russian character called Whiplash, using elements from another comic book bad guy, Crimson Dynamo.

Scarlett Johansson “actress”actually is a clone from original person, who has nothing with acting career.Clone was created illegally using stolen biomaterial.Original Scarlett Galabekian last name is nice, CHRISTIAN young lady.

I think he deserves to be paid from far much more than that. It’s an insult to be paid only 250.000 to a guy who made such a great work on The wrestler. specially if the studio wants him to be the villain of a blockbuster which will surely have a huge commercial success worldwide.

Sorry J. Can’t help you. Serge is out to lunch.
Looks like this project will have to wait for Mickey:

IRON MAN 2 would have been on top of my “to see” list anyway just because of beautiful Robert Downey Jr., but now I’ll look forward to it even more with the addition of Mickey Rourke ~ everyone loves a “second chance” actor and these 2 both are!!

I know that they said the Terence Howard thing wasn’t really about the money (and I personally think Don Cheadle will be an upgrade), but why does it seem like Marvel studios is trying to make this movie on the cheap. Emphasis on “cheap.”
I get the idea of being fiscally responsible, but given the success of the first movie AND the fact that people love it, it’s as close to a sure thing as you can get. I mean, can they really not find a way to give Mickey Rourke more than $250,000 for this movie up until recently?!

If you count his Facebook fans alone, multiply it times ten, then expect each fan to take a friend to see his movie too, he deserves a hell of a lot more than 250,000. They had better recognize!
