THR.com reports that NBC has jumped on the reality-shows-involving-cars bandwagon with Great American Road Trip, a competition series in which seven families will drive cross-country to popular destinations like the Grand Canyon and the Washington Monument. Based on performances in challenges, one family will be eliminated each week. Last month, ABC announced Crash Course, in which contestants navigate an obstacle course in cars. CBS had just recently greenlit Thunder Road, a similarly themed reality show executive-produced by McG. Vroom.
