Chris Brown withdraws from Kids' Choice Awards

Chris Brown has taken his name out of consideration for Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards, the Associated Press and other news outlets are reporting. The embattled pop star, who was charged last week with two felony counts stemming from a February incident in which his girlfriend Rihanna was allegedly attacked, had been nominated for favorite male singer and best song awards for the March 28 show. The nominations were handed out shortly before Brown’s Feb. 8 arrest, and debate had stirred in recent weeks over whether he should be a part of the Nickelodeon event. In a statement, Brown’s representatives said that while the singer can’t speak directly with his fans because of the criminal case against him, he thanks them for their support.

I think chris brown should stay on the ballot intil he get put in jail. I think rihanna should be ashamed of herself for making brown take his name off!! screw rihanna

  • Smart Move

Smart move on Chris’ part to withdraw on his own. Nickelodean should have done it anyway, but it’s better for Chris if it comes from him. Nick needs to send a better message to children that it’s okay to beat up your girlfriend. Rihanna should pull out too, unless she’s too busy sending the message that being in love makes it okay to be beat up on by your significant other. They BOTH need therapy, and both need to step out of the celebrity spotlight and get their lives in order. Neither one of them is presenting a good role model for children at the moment.

Chris Brown needs someone to beat the ish out of him. I wish I could. No man has any right to lay a hand on a woman. No. Right. Its a travesty that young people look at this situation without the understanding of it. I feel bad for Rihanna but she is equally appalling. I just hope they both get the help they need.

I lost respect for Rihanna just for taking him back. But then again, we don’t know the whole story so it isn’t fair to judge either one of them, especially Rihanna.

chris brown is a good kid
i think he needs more Awards

If you ask me both CB and Rihanna should be taken off the ballot. There is no need to acknowledge them on a kids show after the crap they pulled last month. They both deserve to be removed– CB for not taking care of himself a long time ago in regards to the abuse he saw as a kid, Rihanna- for allowing things to get that far since supposedly it wasn’t the first time (she had to have known about his past too), and to CB’s mother- shame on her for not protecting her son by providing him with professional therapy in his early days.(These things don’t just fix themselves over time) Sadly it could have been prevented! And regardless of your gender, keep your hands to yourself people!!

thank god he isnt going to be there. hes name was proberly put on to make him good by pulling out. all this makes me sick, rihanna has ruined her fame over a man that beat her up! i feel sorry for the children that aspire up to people like rihanna, she needs help to get away from brown or her careers over.

i think this was a very classy move, woulda caused a lot of headaches for nickleodian… shows he knows what he did was wrong and should face the consequences… good move chris brown

Aw man! I wish he would have kept his name in consideration and gone on to win. I LOVE awkward did-that-just-happen moments like that. I mean kids giving an award to a batterer. I’m laughing as I’m typing this. Anyway, with the way things are going for Chris, he could use all the award love he can get (even pissant Nick brat love). LMAO

Oh yea, lets not forget that CB hasn’t been convicted of anything. Innocent until proven guilty remember. Not choosing sides here just stating the facts. The true and final story will come out in time.

Chris is a man-child. His carteer should not be ruined over this incident Rihana provoked. Most people in relationships have a physical altercation. I think Chris has been mentally and emotionally by Rihana and he hust released all of his frustration. Chris has leasrned a valuable lesson as has Rihana. Please forgive Chris.

Chris is a man child. He is between adolescence and adult hood. I don’t think Chris should be prejudged or loose his career over this altercation I am sure Rihana provoked. Most couples have physical altercations once one gets tired of being mistreated physically, emotionally, and mentally. I really believe Chris has been emotionally, mentally and physically abused by Rihanna. Look at the STAR and Enquirer reports stating she had a fling with Kanye West. Thats enough to go off over as Kayne is more than likely bi- sexual and could pose a threat to ones health. Only Chris, Rihana and God knows what happened. SUPPORT THEM BOTH.

It is sad to see that kids at this age don’t realize the extent of consequences of their own actions. They are rich and talented kids wrapped in their own worlds with adults who just manipulate them for financial gains. No one close to them is willing to step up and show them the right path. Few years down the road, when these kids look back, they will have lots of regrets and ifs. Sigh…..

I am amazed at the number of people who put any blame whatsoever on Rihanna. She is a victim and he is an ABUSER. Period. No further discussion from the misogynist commenters. They are the same people that say a woman deserved to get raped b/c she was dressed like a “slut”. Shameless and disgusting.
