Michael J. Fox: Returning to TV in May with special on optimism

Tags:

Michael J. Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991 and starred on Spin City until 2001, is planning a return to television with a special on the effects of optimism. Michael J. Fox: Adventures of an Incurable Optimist, airing May 7 on ABC, will look at the literal power of positive thinking, and share details from Fox’s own life. For the special, the actor, husband, father, and Parkinson’s activist will travel to Bhutan, the tiny Himalayan nation so invested in it’s people’s well-being that it actually monitors the country’s Gross National Happiness.

This man commands respect and a true sense of awe. For him to have so many resources at his fingertips, due to his wealth and fame, and to actually use them to not only enrich and benefit himself but others as well, is really incredible. Where most people in his position would retreat from the public eye and live out the rest of their life ashamed of something they can’t even control, Mr. Fox has a strong grasp on reality and a true understanding of who he is and the many things he can achieve. I am grateful to know of his struggle and of his triumphs, and therefore I’ll most certainly be tuning in to say ‘thanks’.

Thanks for the update on Michael’s efforts to make the world a better place. We’ll be looking forward to it.
This optimism path sounds like the way to go, especially in the troublesome times ahead. For those alert people who maintain a hopeful perspective, opportunities will reveal themselves as our world is rearranged according to new priorities.

Hi, I have witnessed a man who has had parkinson’s disease for nine years. He was shaking very bad and 3 months after the same treatment I had, he is hardly shaking anymore and is having a much better life for it. I would like to pass this information on to Michael J Fox and let him try this treatment. It isn’t a cure but it has made a big difference for anyone who has Parkinson’s. Could someone out there please show me how to get in touch with michael. He has done so much for this cause and maybe he can help get this treatment in mainstream for all Parkinson’s patients. Thank-you.

My husband, 72 was diagnosed with MS in 2004 at Mayo Clinic. He had symptoms since 1997 but the neurologists in the Southern Indiana and Louisville areas could not give us the answers. I retired June 2008, at 76 to care for him 24/7. He had been on Avonex, Copoxane, & Rebif which is for RRMS. His Ms is Primary Progressive. I have searched the internet and found LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone). He has been on LDN for 5 days and he can now lift his legs twice as high, has not had ANY pain medication for 5 days, can now stand for short periods again, and we are waiting for the fatigue to subside. I have 2 daughters with Crohn’s and I am insisting they start using LDN. Please inform Michael J. Fox of LDN and let him make up his own mind. It is for all autoimmune disease, including Parkinson’s Disease. 50 mg of LDN has already been approved by the FDA for substance abuse. Up to 4.5 mg once at bedtime is used for autoimmune disease. My cost for 30 caps was $35.00. Please check out.
