Troubled singer Amy Winehouse will not be playing California’s Coachella music festival next month because she faces assault charges in England for allegedly attacking a fan last September. According to People, Winehouse’s rep Chris Goodman has denied that U.S. authorities declined to issue her a work visa, saying only, "She cannot go [to Coachella] because of current legal issues." Last year, Winehouse did not attend the Grammy awards because the U.S. government would not issue her a visa. By the time that decision was reversed, it was too late.

Even money whether Winehouse is even alive by this summer.
Preventing Amy from doing a one day concert event in the US is simply ridiculous.
I really don’t respect the USA’s Visa practices anymore. How many illegal aliens are we allowing to stay in the USA?? Hypocrits.
This is a good thing. One less junkie to think about being loose in the USA
I agree with Joe. Amy hasn’t been convicted by a jury of her peers. In the meantime the media will make a spectacle over nothing.
Uh, you misspelled hypocrite. BTW, I don’t think illegal immigrants get their passports stamped! 8)
Amy Come to Greece
Here Ι love you all people
Hey Cheyenne, Amy doesn’t need the media to make a spectacle of her. She does a really great job all by herself. Jury of her peers … sheesh!

You don’t get it: AW’s ’08 Grammy visa was first denied because the U.S. bars drug abusers and addicts (and she also had a drug conviction). She was lucky to get an 11th-hour waiver, which the U.S. did NOT have to grant … so her visa problems won’t go away if the assault charge does (and if it sticks, good luck! because the U.S. would take that VERY seriously.) The same rules apply to anyone who applies for a visa. It WOULD look hypocritical if — just because she’s a rich celeb — the U.S. gave an EZ-pass to a world-famous junkie with a drug conviction and assault charge.
And don’t pity her or compare her to ‘illegals.” They work at lousy jobs for peanuts – whereas she’s a rich jerk who wants to get richer while thumbing her nose at everyone.

“One day” doesn’t matter. It would be rotten example (like: drug & visa laws only apply to poor, unfamous people). She’s also a famous druggie who tends to raise hell and assault people … so who knows what she’d get into, or inspire.
U.S. laws can be dumb, but don’t blame this one on the U.S. – it’s Amy’s fault for not cleaning up her act or taking her own career seriously.
“Déjà vu all over again” is supposed to be stupid-funny. It’s a quote by baseball player and manager Yogi Berra, who was known for his dead-serious oddball comments, like “Baseball is 90% physical, and the other half is mental” and “If you come to a fork in the road, take it.”
