'Dancing With the Stars': Melissa Rycroft of 'The Bachelor' to take Nancy O'Dell's spot?

Categories: Television

Melissa Rycroft (yes, the one who was dumped by Jason Mesnick onthe controversial season finale of The Bachelor) has been tapped to replace injured Access Hollywood host Nancy O’Dell on Dancing With the Stars, People.com reports, citing a source close to the production; ABC declined to comment. The hit show has its season premiere tomorrow night and Rycroft, 25, is expected to perform. Holly Madison (The Girls Next Door) has been rumored to be filling in for Jewel, who also bowed out with an injury.

If it is true that Melissa Rycroft is going to be on “Dancing With The Stars,” then our family will definitely go back to watching the show again. It became boring to me, but she will bring interest and excitement back into the mix! Yeah!!

I couldn’t be more excited that Jillian, or Jennifer, or Melissa, or harem girl number 8 will be taking over.

What…to the what what? There goes my hope that she’d walk away from this with her dignity in tact. I am sure they would have had her as the Bachelorette, if they hadn’t already started with Jillian and had any idea of the shitstorm to come…

I am not that crazy at Holly being included in the cast of DWTS. Too ditsy for me.

It’s ‘ditzy’ not ‘ditsy’…now isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black.

Maybe this Melissa gal is not the sweet girl we all thought she was. She is trying to stay in the spotlight, isn’t she?

They’ve stretched the word “star” before, but this takes it to a whole new level.

Good grief…her 15 minutes should have been used up weeks ago.

I am thrilled at this news! Melissa turned down the Bacherlorette even though ABC wanted her before Jillian. I thought that was a great decision. This, though, is something she truly deserves.

ABC is doing this for ratings. Also, they could not think of anyone who would do it at last minute expcept for Melissa because people who ARE famous are too busy.

I hope it is true. I would love to see Melissa on this show and to have a good time. I think it will give her and us the closure that we need. We want her to be happy.

I am thrilled! DWTS was boring the past 2 years and we had already decided NOT TO WATCH anymore. But with MELISSA on the show…we are going to watch for sure! I agree with Chris…we just want to see her happy so we can have closure also. GO MELISSA! WE LOVE YOU!

  • Really?

Melissa was a DALLAS COWBOYS CHEERLEADER folks! She already knows how to dance! This is total crap – didn’t she get enough exposure on the DCC show (on CMT), which is why I NEVER bought her sincerity on The Bachelor. Not to say Jason wasn’t a tool, but “america’s sweetheart” is NOT a star, and is a trained dancer with professional experience – not DWTS material at all…. (I can hear her voice-over now: “This is SO MUCH harder then cheering”).

Oh Really…really, really…Green does not become you.
