Here’s some wild news to top off a night of wild card picks on American Idol: Fox announced that the Kanye West, together with a fellow Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson, will perform at the live results show March 11. West will sing "Heartless" and Clarkson will perform her single "My Life Would Suck Without Out" before the Top 13 picks find out who will stay and who will go.

I love Kanye West , also Kelly Clarkson…so this music news makes me very happy ! Kudos to American Idol for getting Kanye for the show.
Kelly must be contractually obligated to appear…I am just guessing.

I don’t think Kelly has any obligations left with Idol. She switched management and all that jazz. Even took an Idol hiatus during seasons 4 and 5 during which she did not appear once. If she’s coming back it’s because is the largest market on television not because Idol is making her.
Kanye raps what the hell does he have to do at a singing competition? I wish they could spare us with no talent idiots like him from our AI. Kelly is great though but I will be changing channels when that fool comes on. Rappers, they’re just as famest as yodlers in my book.
I’ll puke if Kanye mentors this next week.
AI still has the largest regular TV audience around, so artists get great exposure on it. That is why both Kanye and Kelly are appearing, it is simple economics.

The reason why Kelly hasn’t guest in a regular season episode is because the girl has been working her butt off for the past six years. She came back plenty of times for season 2, for season 3′s reg. season she was on tour and recording Breakaway, season 4 & 5 she wasn’t there because she was on tour, season 6 she was busy recording My December and dealing with her label, and last season she was on tour over seas. And plus she has an album coming out. Why would you want to turn the channel when Kelly comes on, you’ll be missing out on great performance. She’s like one the very few best live performers out there. They better have Kelly perform last because hello she is the O.I. and hopefully they will give her a plaque for “My Life” going platinum.
Is Kanye West a singer? I thought he was a rapper…personally I’d love a rap theme show.
