Amy Winehouse charged with assault

The AP is reporting that a London police spokesman says that Amy Winehouse has been charged with assault after after an alleged incident involving a fan at a September ball in the city last year. The fan has been quoted in tabloids saying that she’d been hit in the eye after asking to take Winehouse’s picture. The singer turned herself in at a police station yesterday, where she was charged and released. She’s due in court March 17.
