Fifteen-year-old Dakota Fanning is negotiating to play Cherie Currie in The Runaways, the biopic of the ’70s all-girl band, according to Variety. Fanning is the same age as Currie was when she debuted as the lead singer of the Runaways with hard-edged tunes like "Cherry Bomb." Twilight star Kristen Stewart has already signed on to play Joan Jett, who will executive-produce the film. Fanning is also booked to play a vampire in the upcoming Twilight sequel New Moon.

Hmm…kinda wish they got someone a little older that LOOKS young for this part. Not really ready to see Fanning as a s*x symbol sporting ripped fishnets and corsets.
I love Dakota, so I will be watching The Runaways movie if she’s in it. I like Kristen, but I think Dakota is a better actress. Does anyone know when it became official that Dakota will be in New Moon? I love the series so I hope it is true.
I think that Dakota and Kristen are two up and coming actresses that are trying to be taken more seriously and do more challenging roles. I think that people need to give them a chance to prove that they can do something like this. Cannot wait to see it or New Moon.

Dakota Fanning is an amazing actress and if anyone has noticed she is not “little” anymore…I think she will be fantastic and has worked with better actors and actresses than Kristen Stewart has, and Dakota has held her own, and maybe even outshown those actors at a very young age, she will do amazing…

Kristen will start New Moon March 23th, 4 months of filming in Vancouver and Italy.
There’s not much pre-prod required for her in New Moon coz she is sooo very Bella..
after filming New Moon, she will start The Runaways… after The Runaways, she will start promotions for New Moon and then start Eclipse..
She actually finished another movie after Twilight (before promotions), the movie is “Welcome to the Rileys”

Taylor Momson of Gossip Girl should be cast as cherrie currie instead of Dakota Fanning. Taylor has a musical background and she looks just like Cherrie Currie.
I think Dakota will do great in The Runaways…besides she eventually has to be and will be seen as a s*x symbol so why not start with a great film with another great actress such as Kristen Stewart!
