Jeremy Piven update: Producers will seek arbitration in case

Categories: Stage

Producers of the Broadway show Speed-the-Plow announced on Friday that they will file for arbitration in their case with Jeremy Piven, who departed the production after suffering from high levels of mercury in his body, the Associated Press is reporting. Yesterday, a panel of Actors’ Equity union members was unable to come to a unanimous decision in the matter, and Piven then gave an emotional interview to The New York Times. In a statement today, however, the producers said: "The grievance went as expected yesterday. The grievance committee…did not rule for eitherside and we will be filing for arbitration as provided by our contract."
