The Addams Family, a new musical based on the creepy characters made famous in cartoons, TV, and film, is set to start Broadway previews on March 5, 2010, Playbill reports. The musical is scheduled to open on Broadway next April. Though no actors have been cast yet, recent workshop rehearsals have featured Nathan Lane as Gomez Addams and Bebe Neuwirth as Morticia Addams.

If they keep the cast, I am in
kristin chenoweth as wednesday please.
wow, first spider-man, now the Adams’? everything is about to be a musical now. i guess they have to replace all the ones that had to close down.
i love Kristin, but don’t you think she’s a bit too…sunny to be playing Wednesday Adams, daughter of doom?
bebe neuwirth is perfect for morticia addams.
Neat
“Spiderman the Musical” at least has Bono and the Edge writing the music for it. “Shrek the musical” also had a talented creative team as well an outstanding cast. This musical won’t work at all.
Spiderman the Musical does have two talented musicians writing the music for it. Shrek is also a great musical because it’s a charming story and has a great creative team and cast. This I think will be a bad musical.
Any chance of a ‘cameo’ role for John Astin? Maybe he could play Uncle Fester.
I think it’s a silly idea, as there are many creative people out there who can come up with original ideas that don’t revolve around a well-known t.v. show or movie.
That said, if they are going to do this, then Nathan Lane will be a perfect Gomez. But how the hell could Kristen Chenoweth play Wednesday? She’s far too perky and far too old. Wednesday is a CHILD.
