Sean Penn to play Ambassador Joseph Wilson in 'Fair Game'?

Categories: Film

Two-time Academy Award winner Sean Penn is in talks to play Ambassador Joseph Wilson, the husband of outed CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson, in Fair Game, director Doug Liman’s movie version of the scandal that rocked Washington, D.C., during the George W. Bush Administration, Variety reports. Naomi Watts has been cast as Wilson, on whose memoir the film will be based. Watts and Penn previously starred together in 21 Grams.

He never picks movies that people want to see. I don’t think I’ve seen Sean Penn in a movie since Dead Man Walking because the characters he plays just doesn’t interest me. The stories don’t interest me. And honestly, he doesn’t interest me as an actor.

Didn’t they also star together in The Assassination of Richard Nixon? They’re like the new Ryan/Hanks or Hudson/McConaughey.
