Michel Gondry in talks to direct 'Green Hornet'

Sethrogen1_lIt looks like Seth Rogen will be a superhero after all. Sources tell EW.com that director Michel Gondry (Be Kind, Rewind) is in talks to helm Green Hornet for Sony Pictures. The studio had been scurrying around to secure a director for the Rogen- and Evan Goldberg-penned project after Stephen Chow dropped out of the film in December. (Chow is still playing Kato.) The two parties were having difficulty seeing eye-to-eye on who would be his replacement, and artistry seems to be winning out over straight commercial appeal withGondry as the choice. Plans are to begin production in the summer with the project still slated to be one of Sony’s tentpoles for summer 2010.

Great News, but its Rogen..not Rogan.
Does this mean he will have to remain thin for much longer? I wonder if this pulls him into leading man category yet?

Seth Rogen as the Green Hornet? Are you kidding me? Just because an actor is popular doesn’t mean he should be stuck in anything to make a buck.

I love Gondry. His part of Tokyo! is surreal, but humane(and funny as hell). Its like Kafka on film(but, again, funnier).
The Tokyo! DVD drops June 30th (i think). You can pre-order and catch the trailer on the website http://tokyothemovie.com/
